Don't you think that they will eventually price themselves out of the budget of ordinary people?
I didn't know Disney ever had a reputation of being budget-friendly. I feel like the daily tickets/Park Hoppers/etc were about the same 5 years ago - I know the tickets were at least $100pp/day. I know the resort rooms were $500+/day.
When we went, I made the mistake of driving on Easter Weekend, which apparently was the beginning of SB for the entire northeast. What was to be 8.5 hours was 11.5...and I did it because it seemed like $350/pp airfare was money better spent elsewhere (which wound up being a fishing trip that week). Well, not the same week right now (Easter to following Friday), but the following week is $400 total apiece including fees (since we're < 3 weeks from Easter weekend).
Because if he didn’t plan late, and exaggerate the costs, he couldn’t get in the third complaining paragraph about wages rising and President Biden.
It’s all Biden’s fault that OP plans late and exaggerates prices.
Biden made him come to the White House and discuss Ukraine- if he had just had a zoom call instead this whole trip could have been planned earlier.
And as far as exaggerating prices - if Biden would have provided a better math teacher in the 6th grade, he would have been able to calculate a more accurate budget.
No other explanation - As you can see, it is all Biden’s fault.
(This is sarcasm btw).
Don't forget the "$600 per day economy car rental"
OP obviously has never booked a trip, anywhere. There are people here who travel often and know these numbers are nowhere near reality.
And end of the day if the OP can't afford it, nobody's making him/her go to Disney! Like was said earlier up, go to a national park or something free (or near free).
There were times and places with Covid, used and and new car disruptions, where the rental companies had an extreme lack of cars. And then they can charge what the richer visitors will pay. This is not general inflation, although no doubt that over time some of that is built in.
Has too in the future. But feul cost changes changes might not be reflected in your ticket bought in advance.
Yeah, tickets are mostly based on price and demand when sold. My company had to pay $12K for 1st class travel to travel from Seattle to Seoul one time for me because it was last minute and no Business Class seats were left.

I had a similar thing to Hong Kong. I'd never been there before and the company gave me 6 days notice. Was just about $12,000.
I just purchased round trip tickets to Madrid Spain for $400 and booked beautiful Airbnb apartments for $70 per night. Maybe he should look into Spain instead.
Flying from Boston to Orlando a few weeks from now is ~$1000/ticket for non-stop. In my experience, that's pretty expensive, especially for a vacation destination like MCO.
Now, if you push it out a few weeks further, you get more into the ~$700/ticket which would be more in line with what I would have guessed.
I haven't flown much since the pandemic, but I was on a plane nearly every week for the 12 or so years prior to.
Clicking your link brings me to an unfilled flight search for American Airlines. Going out two weeks, I found a round trip, nonstop, flight between BOS and MCO for $466. But I wouldn't restrict myself to that airline. I have seen the same trip on Spirit for under $300.
Got to look for April 16-24. That's second spring break week here. IF op goes for the entire spring break, from Saturday 4/16 to Sunday 4/24, Frontier is $686, Delta is $984, Spirit is $1000.
But OP said 5D4N. 4/19-4/22 is $570
570x4 is $2700 less than $5000 OP quotes...
Why is OP planning a spring break trip for his theoretical kids 3 weeks before??
You need to have a little flexibility. Shop different airlines, different dates. That has always been true. And of course, flying first-class doubles your cost. I never find that to be worth it for a 2 or 3 hour flight.
