The American public overwhelmingly does not support reinstituting mask mandates or social-distancing guidelines, a survey from Monmouth University revealed on Monday.

According to the findings, 62% of those polled had no interest in bringing back mask requirements to their current state of residence, compared to just 34% of respondents seeking a return to mask mandates and/or stringent social-distancing policies.

That's a 10-point jump in the span of two months. Back in January, a similar Monmouth poll determined 52% of respondents opposed reinstating mask mandates or other interaction guidelines.

The 34% represents the "Biden base," i.e. people who are beyond reason. Masking is a religious cult.

Many are like me in the "Im going to get it at some point anyway" category.

The hardcore anti mask group is also a cult along with hardcore antivaxxers and on the other side.

There are the sociopaths at Herman Cain Award of the pro vaxx/ mask side...

The world is full of terrible people.

There's that 30% number again... the same 30% that support CRT, cancel culture, transgender grooming, support forever masking. Those 30% are the ones that we are going to have to contend with going forward... they're the ones that will bring on the 1984 socialist utopian surveillance state.

It's not even the minorities of the democrat base that are in favor of this, it's the RINOS and karens. I suppose they would call themselves civilized. I have those civilized tendencies within me so I can certainly see things from their perspective. The problem is that's a slippery slope towards full fledged authoritarian style governance. Don't trust human nature in this regard.... air on the side of having more freedom, not less.

Those 30% would lock down society despite the fact that even modest covid lockdowns had a serious affect on the supply chain. They'd hand out more money like candy and we'd have that much more money chasing fewer goods.

If you live in places like Florida and Texas the next time a Covid wave happens you will just get through it. If you live in California or NY when the next wave happens they will make you mask up. It really depends on where you live. If you live in a liberal hell hole they will try and control your life. That's what Democrats do. They feel government knows better than you do. In free states you are allowed to make the decision. I am glad I left the liberal cesspool of NY and moved to the free state of Florida.

Thankfully I live in America and will not be put under a mask mandate. My state (Tennessee) never had a mask mandate. Only liberal cities mayors issued mask mandates here and those were simply ignored by those who did not wish to follow them. Since then our state has stripped cities of the authority to even do this. The free citizens of my state will not be subject to the whims of Fauchi or Biden.

Of course if you live in states like New York, Michigan, Illinois or California then I suppose you have more to worry about. Still if you are an American trapped behind the lines in a state like one of those you have the right to choose defiance. You can also defect to America. Still most people in those places will dutifully obey the politburo and put their masks on. I would bet in some places a majority of citizens wear them voluntarily and will do so for the rest of their lives out of fear or as a demonstration of their support for the Party.

I'm wondering what your definition of "antivaxxer" is. I got the vaccine to begin with, but I'm not getting any boosters. They just don't seem to be worth it after looking at the benefits of natural immunity versus getting boosters every few months. In other words, I believe I'd be better off in the long run to just get COVID instead of a booster shot every few months.

Since when has tyrannical govts cared about what the people wanted? LOL

Covid gives them the justification to impose all kinds of new restrictions on the people if they want, any tyrannical govt is NEVER going to allow more freedom, especially once its been taken away.

San Diego was mask free for an entire year before Newsolini directly targeted us. Even then most of us were like, nope. Pound sand pal.

We ain't going back to the face diapers just to appease a dictator.

San Fran and LA? Whole nother worlds.

I live in a "free state" and we never had mask mandates at the state level.
Locally we had them for a couple of weeks back in 2020.

We traveled all over the US and the only place we encountered this mass anxiety was here in California, specifically San Fran and LA. Even in Vegas casinos, where they had signs to wear them, people just didn't.
