From the article: "WHO has said repeatedly that COVID-19 case counts are likely a vast underestimate of the coronavirus’ prevalence. The agency cautioned countries in recent weeks against dropping their comprehensive testing and other surveillance measures, saying that doing so would cripple efforts to accurately track the spread of the virus.

“Data are becoming progressively less representative, less timely and less robust,” WHO said. “This inhibits our collective ability to track where the virus is, how it is spreading and how it is evolving: information and analyses that remain critical to effectively end the acute phase of the pandemic.
”"

President Trump was right to defund the WHO. They're entire purpose is to PREVENT worldwide pandemics, and they failed spectacularly! Now, they're becoming authoritarians...

We know that the WHO colluded with China to hide Covid-19 as long as they could. For those that don't believe that: https://www.cfr.org/blog/who-and-china-dereliction-duty .From the link to the left: "More concerning is Tedros’ delay in declaring COVID-19 a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC). On January 23, the WHO’s emergency committee was split on whether to declare a PHEIC. With final authority resting with the DG, Tedros decided to wait despite admitting that “this is an emergency in China.” A week later, he declared a PHEIC. By that point, confirmed cases of COVID-19 had increased tenfold with 7,781 cases across 18 countries. John Mackenzie, a member of the WHO executive committee, publicly stated that international action would have been different if not for China’s “reprehensible” obfuscation of outbreak's extent."

Tracking these cases is leading to fear by some. Time to shut this down, and get rid of testing. Next time you fall with flu-like symptoms you shouldn't know it was if caused by Sars-CoV-2 or some other virus.

Besides fear, tracking leads to an impulse to reimpose measures.

Of course the WHO with support from China would want more power.
