Man, what a FANTASTIC interview. Penn made it clear that he isn't a fan of Hannity and that he was hesitant to come on the show because he doesn't trust him. And this was the response between the two:
“Is there a reason you didn’t trust me?” asked Hannity.
“Yeah, there’s a lot of reasons I don’t trust you,” Penn said, noting that there’s “so many people that don’t trust their spouse, and yet we’ve gotta get on with life.”
“We all talk about how divisive things are, how divided things are here,” he continued. “But when you step into a country of such incredible unity [like Ukraine], you realize what we’ve all been missing. And I don’t think that I’ve got time to indulge my lack of trust, which becomes a petty thing.”
Despite these two having their differences, this half hour conversation was intelligent, mature, and thought-provoking. Penn even hinted that he might be willing to come back more often to discuss more political topics. This interview is a great reminder of how things used to be. People with different opinions sitting down together to have a mature discussion. Sadly, the cackling hens at The View blasted Penn for going on Hannity, and couldn't grasp why he did.
