if you don't wanna watch don't watch. i think this policy is nonsense but you watched for the entertainment of it. obviously you found it entertaining for 50 years until a mere 2 years ago.You really want to smack your 2019 self? give me a break.
I'm pretty sure I indicated I wasn't watching. Did you miss that?
You're correct I did find it entertaining for 50 years although with greatly diminishing returns by 2019. The absolute woke disgusting nonsense to begin 2020 was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.
Why don't the make it mandatory for every team to start at least 1 white defensive back?
I'm not watching the NFL until they have an equal number of Asians, Hispanics, and whites as the US population and they have a certified Biologist confirm that half of their players are biological females.
It's always amusing to see conservatives get up in arms about this coaching issue and immediately start conflating it to actually being a player in the NFL.
And as a result we get this nonsense about "why aren't there Asian or white cornerbacks"??
Well, the reason is that teams actually want to win. LOL.
Meanwhile, while the pool of qualified and talented players is pretty small (and mostly black)... the pool of qualified and talented coaches is vast and may actually include people of any ethnic persuasion. And this is simply because they don't have to possess athletic talent to coach.
I thought it was illegal in the U.S. to base a hiring decision on somebody's race, color, or ancestry?
Did I get that wrong?
Nope. You are not wrong.
This violates both spirit and letter of the Civil Rights Act, same as every other affirmative action law/rule/reg/policy/quota ever.
If someone sued the NFL over it, they'd be a pariah, it would take years, but eventually they'd get to the SCOTUS and win. Because it is a flagrant, glaring, no brainer violation of written and duly passed federal law.

RIP to the Late Great NFL.
I gave up in 2020 as well. The hypocrisy of the 2020 summer of love, mostly peaceful Burn Loot Murder being picked up and embraced by the NFL and promoted with those PSA's (more fake narrative) was too much.
The NFL needs to hire more White players to make it more reflective of the population and to promote Diversity. Haven't watched a game in over three years, so whatever.

It's only illegal if you hire a White person over a POC.
