Do NFL owners deliberately refuse to hire Black coaches out of racism? I doubt it.

Does the fact that nearly all NFL owners now and past come from White upper class mean that they bias towards being more comfortable hiring White middle to upper class coaches? Clearly yes. If the NFL is 50% or more Black in terms of players but almost no head coaches are Black that is a problem. A tiny percent of players are Asian or Hispanic, the percent of coaches probably matches that level.

A complicating factor now is the NFL is offense driven and the best head coaching hires are usually offensive coordinators. OCs slant much Whiter than Defensive co's. Defensive coaches in general aren't as successful in today's NFL.

Well, the reason is that teams actually want to win. LOL.

Meanwhile, while the pool of qualified and talented players is pretty small (and mostly black)... the pool of qualified and talented coaches is vast and may actually include people of any ethnic persuasion. And this is simply because they don't have to possess athletic talent to coach.
You got this exactly backwards. Player recruiting is mostly a meat-trust: weigh them, tag them, bag them. If you're 6'5" and over 200lbs or better, you're in. Maybe five guys on the roster with actual knowledge and ability. Most of the players on the field are just throwing their weight up as a road block. It's the coaching staff that has to use all the years of accumulated knowledge as well as new insight into how the ball moves down the field. The coaches are the generals, the fat guys on the field -- cannon fodder.

Right...so wouldn't they hire the best person regardless of any "classification" that is put on them?

We've seen very good examples of what happens when you do diversity hires...and it often isn't pretty.

With the NFL today, if you don't perform as a coach you get fired. What happens with this diversity hire? Do they fire the entire offensive coaching staff except for this person? Do they fire this person and have another diversity hire waiting in the wings?

Again with these words of must, obligatory, mandatory, required....99% of these demands come from the left. These words are a libertarians nightmare! Let's stop trying to control the population with your silly rules.

Did I get that wrong?

Discrimination based on race, color, or ancestry is no more "right" than reverse discrimination based on race, color, or ancestry.

I think we're on the right track here. Being that black men make up ~4% of the American population and there 53 players on a team, black players should be limited to 3 black players to the team. This should allow all Americans an opportunity to participate in the game.

That's math and math is racist.

Until the NFL equalizes the number of Asians, Hispanics, whites, and women in accordance with their population, the NFL is racist and misogynist.

This seems goofy. Most if not all NFL teams have minority coaches on staff. Now they have added a caveat for women. If i was a black coach, that would **** me off.. alas, I am not so i just think its silly.
