You probably should have started at the beginning of the thread.

I wish I could say that I'm surprised at this, but I'm not. This happens every time a black person does something stupid, illegal, or just plain evil. Someone finds a way to blame white people for it.

..."There is a segment of the population that believes that although Smith was justified in his anger, he shouldn’t have behaved that way in front of ‘mixed company.’ Many of us are socialized to believe that there is no time and place for Black anger or emotion, especially not in front of non-Black people," Asare wrote. "By saying that Will Smith shouldn’t have reacted that way because of how he will be perceived by the largely white audience is the perpetuation of the white gaze."...

Who is saying this is why Smith shouldn't have assaulted Rock, exactly?

Rock said afterward he didn't know Plinkett had alopecia. It was just a joke that any normal person without that problem would have laughed at. Smith was way out of line. I hope that narcissistic creep loses his oscar.

If the Smith assault hadn't happened, there was another "race" issue brewing that would have been news. I think it's a small group of online activists looking for problems. I was watching and didn't even notice.

Apparently, people got offended when two black presenters walked onstage to Toto's "Africa" song. Then Madonna's "La Isla Bonita" was playing for a Hispanic presenter.

It would have been interesting when it later came out that the Oscars had an all black production team for the first time in history. They obviously approved it. Hey, we're all human. People make mistakes or don't overanalyze choices regardless of their skin color. It not all about "racism".

Oscars 2022 accused of ‘weird’ Toto ‘Africa’ music choice: ‘How the h*ll is this happening?’

It's hard to know what's serious or irony in our society. I would swear this is nothing more than bizarre made up click bait, total insane BS, because it does sound so insane and our society is full of it now. There are so many actual idiots who say and write this tripe and foolish brain dead dolts who believe it and so here we are.

Racism will always exist because it is an actual thing and there's no pretending it isn't. Cultures are real things with their real differences but certain principles still apply to all. A thug is a thug regardless of his culture and is condemned by all the different cultures alike and yes, condemned every bit as much in their own culture.

Anyone from any culture who wants to place blame on one culture for the negative actions of a person of a different culture should be just as condemned as well. I have zero tolerance for trouble makers who are so ready to jump on any incident to try and stir the pot (so to speak) and create more discontent and trouble. Worthless pieces of sh*t and this goes for journalists, politicians and anyone else using this tactic for their own gain.

Culture. Wow, did I say the word enough times? Isn't that a funny sounding word? Let's see . . culture. Hmm, yep, say it 3 times really fast. Very funny sounding word.

Smith acted out as a thug and there is no excuse for it, period. Now as to the reasons for it, well that's another ballgame and it really doesn't matter. That's the price you pay for being able to walk and talk among people without your Mama holding your hand. You can't scream, slap, cry, pull hair, punch, have a tantrum when another kid takes your toy or whatever and makes you ooooh, I'm soooo mad !!!!

I'm liberal. Do you not already realize anyone can say anything they want on the internet? Don't try to associate me with some clickbait headline crap because the writer claims to be somewhere on the same political spectrum
