Ironically, HB 233 (which DeSantis signed) ties university funding to scores on a "viewpoint diversity" examination; it sounds like something out of the USSR.

I kind of wonder how DeSantis would have handled some of the challenges that Trump faced... Like all the riots in Seattle and Portland. Would DeSantis have the gonads necessary to send in the national guard, even as the local mayors were out pretending to be on the rioters side and refusing help from the national guard?

Yeah I think so. He seems a bit more defiant to “the machine”.
Some of the stuff he pushed thru or supported in FL and the backlash surrounding some of it would have made most average politician cave in. He has always stood his ground. He really seems to take no BS, more so than Trump.
I had said I wouldn't vote again unless Trump was the nominee but I've changed my mind. Give me Trump or Desantis, or better yet, give me a ticket of both guys....and I'll drag myself to the polls and vote.
Give me any RINO, any career politician, Romney, Liz Cheney, Pence, and so forth... and I'm not going to bother.
DeSantis is a rock star. He takes on the lunatic left with ease and is not afraid of what they think about it. I love my state! He will get my vote for Governor and he will get my vote for President when he runs.
