Generational differences. I remember when the Battlestar Galatica reimagination series came to SyFy the two female leads with very Naomi Campbell like bodies, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park were put into a Maxim magazine pictorial. Ten years later comes a pair of new leads on the same network. Melissa O'Neil and Hannah John-Kamen with body shapes more in the mold of Serena Williams.
As with other social changes over my lifetime the body shapes of actors getting lead roles, thus probably seen as attractive by the general society is in flux.

Generational differences? I doubt it. Most men will find a Campbell figure more attractive than a Williams figure, which looks huskier and more masculine. (Both figures are fine, BTW, as are many other figures.)
This is nothing new. There has been a push to get black women to date white men for that last 12 - 15 years. They portray Black men as the source of black women problems, and spout rhetoric about how black women loyalty holding them back or not be recuperated.
Black women do not primarily date black men out of a loyalty as the author suggest. They date black men out of preference and the fact that other races are that interested in them to the same degree, outside of maybe sexual fetishes. Many develop a since of arrogance from their accomplishment, as if a Ph.D. in whatever liberal arts that put you in over 150K + of debt and gave you a job making $75Kis all that impressive. Personally, I could care less about whom you choose to marry. Just please stop portraying it as some sort of victory. I do find it ironic that some of the most pro-black politicians and celebrities have white spouses.

I don't agree the long legs of my younger years has been replaced by the thick of my middle ages. Actress now getting lead and girlfriend roles have a different body type than those of 70s American TV. They now tend towards shorter legs and larger buttocks and thighs as long as the stomach doesn't protrude further than the breast.
Date who you want. Sleep with who you want. Marry who you want.
I cannot believe any of this matters.
