I would post a link if I really cared, but I can't be bothered. They are out there though if anyone else wants to step up.

Well that seems totally credible and not at all a complete cop out!

I've been watching Bill Maher since 2004 when I was a John Kerry voting Democrat. (*shudder*)

You're out of your league on this one, sunshine.

He has always been on the right when it comes to wokeness, even before the word "woke" was a thing. He has always been against political correctness. He has always called out the left for coddling Muslims.

But yes, lately, he seems to feel the left has gone completely off the deep end and they no longer believe in the core values that they once held. For example, like most comedians, free speech is a big issue for him. And that used to be a big issue for liberals. But in more recent years it is the left who is always trying to suppress speech, and it is the conservatives who have taken up the cause. The suppression of the laptop story is one example.

Hell, comedians like Bill have been on stage offending people for eons, but now they have to worry about offended leftists getting up on stage and assaulting them. The new leftists believe that "words are violence", or so they say.

This is correct. I have been watching him since he was on network TV in the 90s. He has always voted democrat, and was always a proud "leftist".

But like most rational people, he was never lock-step with one party.

Yeah, if "on the right" includes the vast majority of the population across the entire spectrum of ideologies and experiences.

No one likes woke.

Which is why our Overlords resort to trying to shove it unrelentingly down our refusing throats.

All it will do is help summon up the return of the Orange One.

So, in that sense, I suppose it serves its purpose.

These days I dont think it is correct that "no one likes woke". That may have been true at one time, but not now. I'm not saying they are the majority by any means, but there is a large contingency on the left that totally buys into wokeness these days.

True.

But they're mostly affluent whites who claim to speak for everyone else on the Left end of the spectrum.

When you poll blacks and hispanics? Totally not on board.

But you're right, I shouldn't let them completely off the hook.

People literally make stuff up.

He seems to be libertarian, but I would never claim to know how he votes - probably not along party lines like a lemming might.
He has described himself as a:

"Liberal"

"Libertarian"

"Progressive"

"Democrat"

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Maher

I remember him telling a story once about his dad sitting him down and telling him that they were on the side of JFK.

Bill Maher's presidential endorsements:

Biden

Oprah

Hillary

Bernie

Obama

Kerry

Gore after the fact

Ralph Nader

Clinton

Not a lot of Republicans or Libertarians on that list.

Opposed Reagan.

Maher argues for more government programs. Seems like he is more of a common sense Democrat.

That post was like the weakest of "challenge" posts ever conceived.
