Even the model 3 wins in the 1/4 mile Fords suck by the I would never own one. Going to spend that kind of money get a Corvette way more performance for $75k https://www.chevrolet.com/performance/corvette

We all know that the future of the typical general consumers choices in daily transport is decided on drag strip.. Lol. This back and forth over 0 60 and quarter mile times is kinda silly.

Personally I'd still drive a ICE for weekend fun....

That's what I have been saying majority of people who drive a Kia Mini suv will be happy if they make the same vehicle in electric as long as it gets 300-500 miles a day, and cost around the same as ICE does. Your right majority of American families I know don't care about performance. I always been into performance I don't really discriminant between ICE and EV. I would like to have a Tesla model S I could afford it but rather spend the money on something else.

You act like most ICE drivers are getting so much performance out of their sedans and suv's and EVs are somehow lacking. How many small SUV's outperform my Model Y? I wonder how many people are criticizing Tesla performance while driving around their Honda CRV or Nissan Altima.

I'm sure GM is being badgered to do it, and they are foolishly obliging. I'm certainly not an investor in that company!
The C7 was bad enough with 4 model years of a bad A8 auto trans that was never fixed right. So much for the so called new fluid that was in my 2019 C7 that got shudder the first 400 miles i had it. The C6 was leaps better with the A6 trans.

Buying an "EV" to "save money" is not logical for people who think these things through. You're not going to be saving any money unless you keep that EV for a long time...by then you'll probably need a new battery.
I will keep it until gas goes back to under sub 3 a gal pal for prem and stays there for 3 years or there is a S10 size truck that comes out with a 400hp EV motor. At $6 a month i am more than thrilled with my EV while prem is around $5 a gal my man.

You and I agree not sure how you came up with that from my reply. Most people who own cars don't drag race could care less about 0-60 performance. They put a baby seat in the back of their Kia and go to the grocery store. This is who the EV will be marketing to not the weekend racer. Tesla has done a good job of marketing to both. They need to get the price down more to really make an impact.

They're depreciating assets. Perhaps you don't like financial independence and freedom from debt, but others do.

Have fun saving the planet driving to your 9-5 job forever, the rest of us understand a car is to get you from A to B, not a status symbol for your woke radical friends that require slavery to debt and Elon Musk.

Who thinks any small SUV (modern station wagon) is a "performance vehicle?"

They are purchased by soccer moms to take the kids to practice and to get groceries. Most men that have them in their family are embarrassed to be seen in them.

If you want a truck, buy a truck. If you want a car, buy a car. Those tiny silly things in the middle are certainly not purchased for "performance."

Seems to me like this is the answer to a question that was never asked.
