Don't forget when Al Gore said 15 years ago, "In ten years, New York City will be under water"...

Hasn't Miami been under a death sentence for the last thirty years? It boggles my mind how these people keep getting prediction after prediction wrong, yet people still believe what they say...

Not really when you consider the mainstream media and one of the two major political parties in the USA has been gas lighting it for the past 20 years or so.

But seriously...if this is such a no-brainer, you'd think that large majorities would be easy to get by now, no?

at least 70 or 80% should accept it as the future don't you think? You'd think there wouldn't be a loss rate of 20% wouldn't you?

Maybe that should be the title of a new thread?

"Have the Global Warming/Climate change alarmists ever accurately predicted a single thing in the past 60 years?"

You seem to have a difficult time understanding the concept of future even though the word is featured prominently in the subject of the thread you created. I looked the other day to see what the cost and delivery date would be if I ordered my present car (Model Y). It currently costs $10k more than what I paid for it and the estimated delivery date wasnt for 8+ months from now. The demand seems to be there but not the availability and the price is too high for the mainstream. That is likely to change as we move forward.

I didn't even vote in your poll, and I suspect I'm not alone. This forum is a cesspool of right-wing conspiracy nuts and doesn't reflect mainstream America.

Are you purposely ignoring the 20% loss rate that I just posted, or 2% market penetration over 20 years?
No, you are purposely ignoring that EV sales are growing exponentially. Do you understand the difference between 100% and 20%? Apparently not. I'm guessing 20% of people who buy anything get buyers remorse and end up selling. Means nothing and ignores the fact that many EV households are buying SECOND EVs. Almost half the households in my area with EVs have two of them. I myself have two friends who own two EVs. Actually one has two EVs and a Prius.

58% of households own 2 vehicles or more. I have more than that. Today, owning both an EV plus an ICE vehicle is the sweet spot. An EV actually gets its best mileage around town because of regenerative braking and never needs gas, never needs oil changes, air/fuel filters, spark plugs, etc. Always starts, just get in and go. You simply cannot deny that for around-town use, an EV is vastly superior to an ICE vehicle. Vastly superior. Use the ICE vehicle for trips that exceed the range of the EV, which again for most people is the minority of the time. That is today, tomorrow will be even more favorable to long EV trips. So even if you only target the 2nd-car market, that's still 58% of the entire auto industry in the US and is enough to make EVs successful.

Again, you're making my point: You're square pegging a role hole and forcing something people don't want in the name of environmental philosophy. That's what's so silly about this "movement."

Can you name any prediction the environmentalists have ever made that came true?
You've hit rock bottom with your silly thesis and yet continue to dig. The facts are you not your favor. EVs are here to stay and are the future.

But. . .the same for many, if not most ICE vehicles. It's the semiconductor computer chip shortage, and general supply chain issues, the Tesla is in demand compared to other EVs, but so are big ICE pickups and SUVs.

Eh, sorry they are.

Imagine trying to double down on 200 year old tech as still being part of 'the future'.

I dunno why you crazies hate EVs so much. Musk is a pioneer and like the biggest capitalist in the world. It will create new jobs. OMG, think of all of the mining, energy consumption, and pollution using a computer will cause!!! the typewriter users said 50 years ago.

More and more EVs will be sold rendering your predictions in this thread somewhere between comical and just plain wrong.

You’ve clearly never been to a developing country.

Most are still using motorized scooters and bikes, there’s no way in hell the average person could afford an EV.

So no, it won’t become widespread. Countless countries will never have the infrastructure or disposable income for EVs to include our own southern neighbor Mexico.

“Hey poor countries, we know you can’t feed your people, but please buy these $60K EVs for climate change.”
