But they are only asking to be teased, bullied and hated in school by claiming they are of the opposite sex they were born. Who in their young right mind wants that?
There are so many people in this world that do weird things and behave in weird ways that I stopped asking why a long time ago.
I came to the conclusion we may never know the answer to that question. Or perhaps some extraordinary genius person will figure it all out and explain it to us someday.
It's really no ones business. I met a man who was born into a female body, and I could not tell him from other males. Full beard, deep voice. I wish insurance companies would cover transitions. They pay into it as they get to the point when surgery can be done.
LOL, I don't think testosterone therapy would help him! More than ever before, I think rather than criticize or condemn, people should be feeling quite thankful if their lives are not affected by transsexualism in any way.
My son went through a very, very difficult time at ages 16 and 17…and even into 18. It was hellacious. So please believe me when I say I’m not judging you as a parent. We are all doing the best we can do.

Did the left handers movement demand to change reality for the world? Demand new language, new biological definitions, teaching to 5 year olds to explain they, too, could be left handed if they wanted to? Did they demand drugs and surgery to 'fix' the issue?
No comparison at all to what is going on today.
I think while there is more acceptance, there is also more backlash than decades ago because of the overreach to make this part of the everyday lives of the entire population. YMMV.

Funny you should mention that, since I had a much-loved teacher in elementary school who was left-handed. There was a period in which I wanted to be left-handed too. I tried and tried writing with my left hand, and I was frustrated that I couldn't be a left-hander like my teacher. It just wasn't fair!
It took a while for the adults in my life to convince me that I was right-handed, and that was something I could not change, just like I couldn't change the colors of my eyes.
In today's world, I wonder if it'd be different - that I could be a left-hander if I really wanted.
