I'd love to see them increase it to about 20million.
Mainly because I'm Chaotic Neutral and would love to see the complete and utter poop-storm that would ensue from tax-payers and the various fraud and well...everything.
There are many rich living there from the entertainment industry and it has a large gay/lesbian community. They are all liberal leftists. The city council is made up of mostly gays. I lived there for many years. This is just more socialism by the left but directed at only certain people aka the oddballs.

Apparently the city plans to apply for state funds for 50% of the funding and the non-profits plan to get donations for the other 50%.

Rather niche specific and frankly, just because the work is being done by a non-profit the money is still coming from the government which raises questions about why just these groups.
Also, doing the study in Palm Beach and well sample size...I'm skeptical as to any value that can be gained with any actual scientific basis.
i would never move to California just to get this freebie. it costs each resident a lot more in other ways, not worth it.
