Susie has two moms. Johnny has two dads. Jim Bob, whose parents have been derelict in their parental duties, doesn't know why Johnny's dads are holding hands walking him home from school or why Susie's mom's kiss at their daughter's birthday party. Jim Bob asks his teacher because at 5 you think your teacher knows everything. The teacher is not able to answer in an age-appropriate manner that families and love come in lots of different shapes and sizes. Instead, by the Florida law, they would need to say they can't answer that.
What I just can't understand is why you all want to get rid of gendered restrooms. I thought you were upset by trans kids using the bathroom that most makes sense for their appearance, but here you are supporting a law where by the very nature of the law, teachers couldn't explain which restroom to use or enforce gender because they aren't allowed to talk about it.
actually, this isn't true. none of it. Your interpretation - or the interpretation of whatever liberal group you're parroting - of the FL law.
And if Jim Bob's parents' "dereliction" is they're not "loving and supportive and provide for Jim Bob" is one thing. If dereliction is intended to mean "didn't teach a 5 year old that there are gay families", well that is a matter of personal opinion
And anyone that thinks there's a rash of K-3 who are transgendering and have bathroom confusion, it makes me wonder.
I can't speak for others, but when I went to K-12, we didn't know anything about our teacher's sex lives. The most we were privy to was whether the women were Miss, or Mrs, and even that did not inform us of whether they were dating, engaged to be married, were still married or divorced.
Nowadays, these self absorbed, attention seeking narcissists in the K-12 teaching profession, think their students should know even the most intimate parts of their personal sex lives, and be privy to their sexual desires and proclivities. so they post teary-eyed Tik-Tok videos, crying that they might not be able to spew their sex lives in front of grade school students.
That's weird to me. My teachers had photos of their families on their desks. We saw them together at things like the annual Fall Carnival, theater productions, and football games. They talked about their kids or mentioned their spouses. It wasn't like they said "OK kids, gather round and let's talk about ME!" but it's the kind of thing that comes out spending a year in a classroom with another human being. They didn't have to check their wedding rings at the door or quit when they became pregnant, either.
You spend a lot of time fantasizing about teachers' sex lives and the phantom of how they share that in a classroom (in short - they don't). Seek help, it sounds like the pervert is you.
That was in the 90s and early 2000s. My parents, who went to school in a different state in a city (rather than small town) in the 60s, still remember personal details about their teachers. This is nothing new.
Fast forward to the next Marvel movie. Its a new bar to say that story lines that show the existence of LBGT people is grooming. I thought their thing was that they want lbgt characters in stories that dont center on their sexual identity, I thought thats what we all wanted.
Can you point to examples of teachers teaching kindergartners about sex? Because even without this law, that wouldn't be allowed.
What this law bans is the teacher answering questions about why their classmate has two moms. Or from mentioning their spouse. Or answering any questions about their pregnancy. Or guiding students to the appropriate restroom for their gender. Can't talk about sex, after all!
The "omg teaching 5 year olds about SEX" line that has become prominent is so rooted in fear and ignorance that it jumps right over the truth and slides into home base into conspiracy theory.
that you could even type this absurdity is troubling. Yeah, the teacher isn't going to correct little 5 year old Johnny when he goes to wander into the girls restroom.
You people really truly believe this inanity, don't you?
Or is this simply a defense mechanism against the equally-absurd "all teachers are groomers"?

How could they according to the law as it's written?
This law was made without thinking out the logical conclusions.

This law as its written is no more thoughtless than Brandon's "Regulate Everything that Moves and Tax it Until it Dies" ....er I mean Build Back Woke....er I mean Build Back "Better" Agenda.

the woke attorneys have been doing a great job of convincing school personnel that the ONLY way to avoid getting sued - which isn't even a parent's first relief - is to remove any mention of any gender. That's the purported "logical conclusion". Though I'm sure they'll have their eyes and ears out for any teacher that dare have a family photo in their room.
That's just absolute BS until the first parent complains to the school about "You're not supposed to teach Johnny pronouns at all!! You cannot say "He ate lunch"!!!! and that parent DOESN'T get laughed at by the system, the magistrate who has to hear it when the parent escalates, and hopefully the stupid right-wing attorney who the dumb parent has to pay.
