I think about what America was in the time Dekel was fighting in WWII, I'll just say this. I don't sympathize with Nazis or Communists. I have a disgust for both of them. With that said, I think about America up to the 1960s. Let's just say I'm happy I don't live in that America. The America of 1776-1968 would not have been good for me as a Black person. Call it dwelling in the past all you want. I can't think kindly of the years up to the 1960s. Just can't.
I do wish all the people who riot, and burn down cities, would just leave this country, if they don`t like it. See how much fun they would have in Russia.....just like that women basketball player.

It wasn't slavery, but pre 1970's was a very difficult time for a black person. I didn't realize it at the time, but looking back, this white guy see's it clearly.
That said, stepping aside from the racial aspect, I also see many things today that are worse than then.
We don't know what he was going to go on to say because BAM,they cut the video off just when he was going to make a point. Given the way this poor old man is being used for the right's agenda, I really wonder what it is he was about to say...was he disgusted with Jan. 6, for example?

I just don't think there is any reason for me to want to return to said days. I was also born in 1986, so I never lived back then either.

Same with the terrorists who broke into the capitol. Anyone who gets into a riot and becomes violent or terrorizes other people needs to be arrested no matter what side they're on. A peaceful protest is one thing. A violent riot is another. I wouldn't throw them out of the country, just arrest them and make them accountable.
Americans had more pride in their country back in the day. The only time close in our lifetime was 911 but that has faded away
