Congrats Russia!

You lost your flagship.

In a land war.

To a country that does not have a navy.

To a trick that amounts to the classic head fake.

It must suck living with the guilt of knowing your vote, made in ignorance, resulted in the unnecessary deaths of thousands of people.

It would have happened earlier, except it didn't between 2016-2020, and the only times Putin invaded was under Obama (Crimea annexation) and now with Biden.

Perhaps. Russia might have overwhelmed Ukraine by now. Trump would not have supported Ukraine with any weapons, and for sure he would not have rallied and united NATO. So if you are a fan of Putin you are right.

From all of the above, it's a wonder Putin didn't decide to go ahead and invade Ukraine while Trump was president. Expert observers probably know why he didn't.

I think you're somewhat overstating the case. NATO has been pretty ineffectual, all that has been done is to send Ukraine some weapons and ammunition, and to put some sanctions in place. Putin did underestimate the resolve of the Ukrainian people and seriously overestimated the capabilities of his own military.

Thing is, this has a lot of similarities to the Cuban missile crisis. Russia "acted up" then because they thought we had a week, feckless leader that would do nothing to counter their actions. And given the cowardice shown via the Bay of Pigs fiasco, that wasn't an unreasonable assumption. The current situation is similar-Putin moved because he thought Biden in particular, and the west in general, would do nothing. Had we shown some degree of strength, resolve and competence prior to the invasion, he likely never would have acted-as he didn't for the last 4 years. But with Biden's constant bumbling, incompetence and incontinence, he obviously felt empowered, especially seeing the pathetic manner our withdraw from Afghanistan was handled. We should be thankful for the Ukrainian people and their sacrifices limiting the impact of Biden's incompetence.

Apparently you missed the fact that we can't even supply the oil for our own needs, and have to import it from foreign countries. We don't have the oil to supply the Europeans in a war with Russia.

Russian state TV declares World War Three has started after sinking of Moskva

Russia 1, a Kremlin mouthpiece which has championed the war, came close to acknowledging Ukraine sunk the Moskva by demanding a crushing response.

Olga Skabeyeva, one of Vladimir Putin’s leading propagandists, told viewers Western support for Ukraine amounted to direct conflict with Russia, saying: ‘What it’s escalated into can safely be called World War Three. That’s entirely for sure.

‘Now we’re definitely fighting against Nato infrastructure, if not Nato itself. We need to recognise that.’
Yet, Putin throws out empty threats. Just to make sound bites.

Putin has over stretched his military. With troops being forced to act as peacekeepers, back up's in nation's who he is trying to bring back to the Soviet era.

His equipment is from Soviet era (including the flag ship sunk), untrained, undisciplined and unimaginative troops.

He can say what he wants, Putin is losing.
