If the founders could see the chart I posted showing gov't consuming ~50% of GDP (as of 4-22), when it was just 10% in 1930, they'd immediately organize a peaceful overthrow.

Gov't spnding 1/2 of all output is wrong by every measure, & if its not reversed soon, we're all going down.

This inflation might just be the beginning of the end. $30T in debt means we can't raise interest rates enough to control the inflation, becaue it will jack up payments on the debt.

the ONLY way out of this is huge reductions in across the board gov't spending, & at least 1 decade of consumer & taxpayer pain.

The problem is the neoliberal agenda is the political expression of both sides.

Both parties, & most American people have been captured by this agenda; it began in the late 70s early 80s & has become more entrenched since then. Supply side trickle down economic theorizing including deregulation, free trade, privatization, reduced spending on those who need it the most, & increased reliance on financialization.

It will not help to ‘set social issues aside’ when both parties & most American people believe “in the market we trust”.

Taxes & regulation? “in the market we trust” & “as much or as little as the market will bear”.

Income & wealth inequalities? “in the market we trust” & “as much as the market will bear”’.

Offshoring wealth & power? “in the market we trust” & “as much as the market will bear”.

Stop the continuing resolutions, & return to the annual budget process, & force balanced budgets.

At some point, big tech and media must be broken up, and more controls put into place to stop the brainwashing, & censorship. Citizen panels with constantly rotating randomly selected people of all walks of life.

This can all be done via Constitutonal Convention, which will be possible after the 2024 elections. By then, the Pubs will have enough states to pass it. The key is to prevent the traditional Pubs from having power in 2024. It must be a new leadership group instaled by centrit Dems AND Pubs who are sworn to implement the steps above. Joe Manchin, Sinema, Rand Paul, Thomas Massie, are the type peohttps://www.investopedia.com/terms/n/neoliberalism.aspple we need.
How to ‘stop the flow of money’ from corporations to government when the neoliberal agenda prescribes privatization & deregulation?

How to begin campaign reform when corporations have the same rights as people?

Completely agree but it's a difficult task to undertake when half of our population doesn't realize a problem exists! They are easily buffaloed, sidetracked and influenced to worry about second and third level issues. Simply put, they just don't get it and this is not by accident.

Reduce headcounts to the same proportions we had in 1930, undo laws and regs that are really pay to play, & pick favorites.

Return to the budgeting process we used back then too...no more CR's (continueing resolutions() and no more Omnibus spending disasters which is just massive port barrell spending.
Going back to the political economic factors that ushered in the Great Depression is not helpful nor does it represent learning from history.

Cutting the government spending that props up private profits without ‘trickling down’ would make more sense however that is the complete opposite of the neoliberal belief systems of of both parties & most Americans.
