10 mass shootings over easter weekend this the paradise the NRA wanted? Where are All those with their thoughts and prayers? Two mass shootings alone in s.c. this country is sick.https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/18/us/us...end/index.html
It's a rarity that mainstream media run the stories of the good guys with guns. That would thwart their Liberal narrative.

Guess some just love the wild Wild West. Everyone just carry your gun short or long. I’ll take a flame thrower $500
On past threads when a shooting happens, people here will say, "if only there had been a good guy with a gun." Now in this thread, people are saying that civilians are not required to fire bck. Sure, I guess both statements can be true. It just seems a little hypocritical. I know "good guys with guns" have stopped shootings before. We see a lot of those links here. Sometimes, however, good guys with guns shoot good guys without guns (or women or kids). Sometimes guys with guns shoot guys with popcorn, too. I don't know what the answer is. In the case of the mall shooting in Columbia, the bad guys with guns couldn't even hit the other bad guys with guns. Who is to say the good guys with guns could have done any better?

There are thousands of cities across our country that have virtual zero violence, even with high rates of legal firearms ownership. This isn't a firearm problem, it is a societal one.
Adding more guns to the mix, that's the fix. Yup keep them coming. Hand them out at birth.
Insanity.
You can't possibly think that it's the number of guns out there that cause mass shootings do you? If there was ONE gun and it fell into the wrong hands, there would be a mass shooting. The problem is CRIMINALS with guns. SO unless you have a way to remove ALL guns and maintain that situation then the NUMBER of guns is immaterial.

Keep violent criminals off the streets when they get caught. Spinning them through the revolving doors of justice let them become repeat criminals. Unfortunately, criminals are defended and enabled and the consequences aren’t severe enough.
I prefer a short gun for carrying, but all of my guns stay put, behave, and don’t shoot anything on their own.

Bingo…and the folks that cry about guns are many of same folks that defend and enable the poor entitled criminals.
NRA magazine to which my father subscribed for decades always has a segment called the armed citizen that lists several self defense stories so I do not doubt the claim of thousands which is probably low.
Whoops, found it on-line not sure how far back it goes but it makes the point.
P.S. I know 2 people that were forced by felons to defend themselves from rape and robbery with a gun. Not sure why people doubt these stories, likely a lack of diversity in terms of economic and geographical background. People with wealthier, safer areas tend to not see the value of gun ownership.
