This chart does NOT include the 2019-2022 Trillions of covid & "infrastructure" spending, so now, total gov't spending is easily 50% of GDP.

So, 1/2 the pizza pie is gone by the time the American public sits down to the dinner table....gov't ate it.

At the current trajectory, gov't will leave Americans just a few slices to feed the family by 2030.

How does this end..when gov't runs out of others people's money?

How can it end? What are the potential scenario's?

If gov't eats 3/4th of the pie, are Americans in the private sector starving to death? Does Big Biz die due to lack of private investment?

At what percent of total gov't spending does the economy collapse?

Does this incurable inflation signal the beginning of the end?

I have no answers, just questions.

Stay tuned for part 2

It certainly won't be either of the two major political parties.

Where does this end?

What does it look like?

When will it be given the current trajectory?

Who then? Tell us how this ends, and who is responsible?

The Chinese? A 3rd political party? We the People?

Talk to us...

Your chart shows government spending as a % of GDP not really all that different from the mid-80s.

One of the many reasons I used to be a Republican was that I saw the value in maintaining a more rational level of government spending. I felt that a LOT of it was warranted, but that there was a lot of waste as well.

And I watched the GOP spend like drunken sailors. Like...what the heck?

Actually kinda fascinating. You would think from how the GOP screams about it that it would be much higher. Our debt is higher, meaning someone is not paying their share. (Cant imagine who).

But look at the war years. wow. thats some insane spending. I wonder if this thing with Russia will get hot and have us spend like that.

the chart is through 2018. When you factor in the Trillions spent on covid and infrastructor, we are now ~50%.

1/2 the pizza has been eaten by govt before Americans in the private sector sit down to dinner...is that good?

Explain why, & how that ends?

Plz expend some intellectual energy in your reply..not just empty 1 liners.

Beyond my pay grade, I'm afraid. All I know is both parties tout fiscal conservatism until they're the ones holding the reins.
