What a bunch of garbage.

There is nothing in the executive order that specifies a required building style. All it did was say it didn't have to be a Classical style.

I just found this out (because I hadn't heard anything about it, so I looked it up), even though the President rescinded the order in February 2021. I was over the moon when President Trump did this. The White House, The Supreme Court, Capitol Hill, and especially the Library of Congress are STUNNING because of their beautiful classical architectural design. All we put up, now, is ugly concrete rectangles... Shame on President Biden for doing this!
Yes, they are beautiful buildings, and what makes them stand out is the variety of architecture in the district. I don't want a capitol city where all of the buildings are the same. I find much to admire in the diversity of architectural styles, even Brutalism. I'm glad the current president overturned the order.

What some of the conservatives in this thread are desiring reminds me of this.

It's (French) Second Empire. The mansard roof is the tip-off. Very popular during Grant's administration and sometimes referred to as General Grant style. The building was generally considered an eyesore and almost demolished prior to its designation as a National Historic Landmark in 1969.

Nazi architecture was pretty much a highly 'vulgar' version of 'neoclassical' architecture. Any 'modern' attempt at neoclassical architecture would likely be even more 'vulgar.'

Pathetic.

You have abandoned all logic, reasoning and common sense in this thread in a desperate and misguided attempt to defend the disaster that is Joe Biden and you compare conservatives to Nazis??!!!

That is even more desperate than playing the race card.

Unbelievable.

They should have demolished it, IMO.

Mark Twain would agree with you. He called it the ugliest building in America. President Truman wasn't a fan either.
