The title of the article and this thread is totally misleading.
Changing names and pronouns is not making a kid trans.
It is social transition, and encouraging kids to do this behind the parents’ backs is abhorrent. Gender dysphoria has a high suicide rate and not informing parents of this should be against the law and a fireable offense.

It would be the equivalent of a teacher diagnosing a child with bipolar, deciding on the treatment, giving the child the treatment, and HIDING it from the parents.
Nah, schools these days are just teaching their abcs, and arithmetic ~ said all the DemoDonkeys.
At first these clowns will deny this is happening, then when they cannot do that anymore, claim it's normal and we're primitive for not getting on their pedo/grooming/tranny train!
The former is totally arbitrary--if you want to name your little offspring, that popped out with a penis, Annabella, feel free. But don't expect to have any respect from your son, Annabella, come time he's old enough to be made fun of and realize what you've done to him.
The latter is a denial of reality--if you want to call a duck a mountain goat, feel free. But don't expect anything more than a laugh at you from a sane person whom you request do the same.
Reminds me of the Johnny Cash song, "A Boy Named Sue."
This is one sick sick sick movement, it appeared overnight just like the wokies so I'm presuming this has been a deep infiltration gig going on for a long time. Kind of like how communists have gotten control of so many institutions, public and private. We're in deep deep doo-doo. We being Western Civilization.

Same. Exact. Situation.
It is, and I don’t understand how people can’t see that. People need to start suing.

Well, it’s been going on outwardly for years and if you mentioned it they’d say you were making a big deal out of nothing at best, and at worst accuse you of hate and bigotry. My daughter’s year had at least 11-13 transgender students in it (may have been two years altogether). She graduated several years ago so this has been going on for a long time.
There is no valid reason for schools, especially elementary schools to introduce students to gender identity.
Think about what you've just written here. Of course teachers introduce and/or confirm gender identity! A first grade teacher cannot teach personal pronouns without basing it on the concept of gender identity; otherwise, we'd just call everyone they/them and have done with it.

Since forever we referred to females as she/her and boys as he/him. Why all of the sudden do we need to change that and have long discussions about it, especially in elementary school? Maybe we base pronouns on biological sex, not gender identity.

This thread refers to a lawsuit involving a middle schooler not an elementary schooler. The point is that gender identity is baked into the school curriculum. There's no two ways around it, and teachers are caught in the middle.
