Can’t competently govern? Than why are all the fastest growing areas of the country republican controlled? People are choosing to live in Texas and Florida and suburbs and not New York and California and urban areas.

Sorry to frustrate you more all the cities and counties important to the American economy, they are controlled by the Democrats.... Finally without California today the American economy would be a thousand times smaller

If Jennifer Ruth Green wins the primary and takes on Mrvan ... I think she'll win.
Good luck!
If we can do it in blue VA (Youngkin) you can too!

It's pretty simple political theory, really. If the midterms are a referendum on crazy, Republicans will largely win in legitimately competitive races. That doesn't mean they're optimal all-around candidates, of course, but it will constitute an acknowledgement that Democrats have abandoned classically liberal precepts in wholesale fashion — which they have, in large measure. My subsequent worry is that the GOP continues to do what the Democrats have done with respect to their own party, which is placate the more extreme and obnoxious within their respective ranks. This is an assbackwards strategy, should it be employed, and flies in the face of the very 'American Spirit' that reliably plays a role in right-wing candidacies. I just hope they recognize this, because the middle-to-long-term stakes couldn't be greater.

DeSantis didn’t pick a fight with Disney. They objected to DeSantis signing a law which placed restrictions on how young children could be taught about sexual topics. Disney picked the fight.

My personal opinion is that Disney has strayed from the path that Walt Disney envisioned. His goal was entertaining families, not using the clout of his company to fight legislation which had exactly zero to do with the entertainment industry.

It may or may not result in DeSantis falling out of favor. Judging from people’s reactions that I’ve seen, it hasn’t affected him negatively. What’s sure is that Disney will feel the effects of stepping into political waters. Both the House and Senate have voted to repeal their special tax status and DeSantis is likely to sign off on it. With all the issues Disney World has been having since reopening, having a public tantrum over a law that has majority support among the populace seems a bit of a dumb hill to die on.

It should just be a wee bit tougher than even Virginia ... there hasn't been a Republican in that Congressional seat in about a hundred years.

Even though it's Indiana, the most populous county in the district is basically just as blue as Chicago. But for the first time, we just may have a real contender - instead of the same dude who's basically run as a Republican for the last 10 years and has never really campaigned at all.

She's an air force vet, pro-life, pro-family & pro-gun ... and since apparently, skin color and diversity is the most important requirement, she's black. So I'm assuming all our local democrats will cross party lines to vote for her and against the middle aged white man with a D after his name.

The extremes of both parties control the primaries. When one of the parties has a big win, they invariably overact and push an agenda that alienates the moderate Independents in the middle and lose their shirt in the next cycle or two of elections.

Rinse and repeat.

We need rank file voting in both the Democratic and Republican primaries to bring both parties back to the center where the majority of voters are.

Actually the motivated informed voters control primaries, and IMO those who fail to vote in any election (unless hospitalized during the full voting cycle), should have their voting rights suspended for 5 years.

Yeah sorry, nobody is entitled to my vote by default or coercion -- the candidate's brief is to earn it, not demand it.

Maybe the political class should do some self-reflection as to why the public thinks so little of them that so many can't be bothered to vote for any of them.
