We can call it the Democrat "Woke" Tax since they seem to want to describe everyone that doesn't agree 100% with their agenda a Homophobe.

Disney is and enormous source of revenue for the Florida economy, DeSantis put himself first because he can't take some company exercising free speech. Vindictive and senseless, if this ends up costing Disney money they should add a DeSantis Tax on each ticket. Like republicans like to say when we raise taxes, it's passed onto the consumer.

Beyond that his Don't Say Gay Bill is mean spirited and senseless, but this is what republicans are running on in November, they don't have a platform.
What exactly is mean spirited about not teaching k-3 graders about sex? Please do tell.

Yall calling it woke to simply not attack gay people is beyond weird.

You’re going to have to bring the receipts for this claim.

All I know is, there are several Asians that work with me (a Chinese and a few Vietnamese immigrants) and they are big into the stock market and they were all talking about this at work and wondering how come these sick freaks want to push this sex stuff on the kids. Now granted, their kids go to private schools so they don't have to worry about it, but one guy said he actually cut his cable finally because he was sick of all the gay stuff being shoved in his face.

Private schools are going woke, too, in many cases.

Well ... Disney owns about a billion dollars in bonds for property development and Disney is responsible for fire, EMS, police, highway maintenance, water, sanitation, and just about every other public service in the 40 square miles it owns. Guess who is responsible for all that now? Florida, specifically Orange and Osceola county. Do you think they have that in their budgets? Do you think state government can come close to maintaining all that infrastructure to the standards Disney maintains? Have you ever seen a pot hole driving into Disney? You probably will now.

I guess Disney could simply turn over all infrastructure and employees involved to the state and tell Florida its their job to start paying for it. Oh, and the first payment on the billion dollar bond is due, so pay up Florida.

If it sounds messy and stupid, thank DeSantis and the GOP.

Disney employs 80,000 people in Florida and tourists contribute almost 6 billion in local and state tax yearly.

And they are.

Homeschooling has increased from 3% of all school-aged kids to 11% of all school-aged in less than 3 years.

Keep pushing the non academic, racist, and sexual propaganda at kids. Teachers will soon be out of jobs. They are creating their own demise.

I believe a provision of the Reedy Creek Improvement calls specifically for all municipalities to be turned back over to both Osceola and Orange Counties. I’d be willing to bet most employees will remain as well, but will become city/county employees.

Disney will pick up much of the cost through taxation. There will certainly be supplemental taxes added to hotels, restaurants, etc.

Disney is not going to be the winner here.

Well, a Billion dollar debt owned by Disney now belongs to the state of Florida so Disney just got a billion dollars richer overnight. In addition, the state has to start paying the tab on all the infrastructure Disney maintained. That's a 100 million plus a year Disney will save. Any taxes Disney will have to pay will be passed on to hotels, restaurants, park fees etc so the public will end up paying. If Disney is good at anything, its running a business. They will do OK and their customers and tax payers will foot the DeSantis bill.

Florida is going to be just fine. Disney World will no longer enjoy similar status to an Indian Reservation, but they’ll be just fine too. Or maybe not. They no longer offer the quality family experience that they once did and there are other alternatives.

These choices were made by Disney’s corporate officers. They’ll probably not enjoy long careers at Disney.
