We have a former president who is actively trying to increase censorship and shut down free expression in the digital public square. We warned you!
Is it starting to sink in yet????

Now we have to be lectured on speech by this lying cover up artist? Not surprised.

Im all for using laws to restrict Obamas speech (and anyone else who thinks like him).

In a just world Obama would be in a prison cell, not doing speaking engagements and raking in $$$$$$$$

Obama is 100% correct.

What's the outrage, exactly? The 1A is a limit on government authority. Social media is not the government.

I'm old enough to remember when conservatives championed autonomy for the private sector.

Which the left used to their advantage to take everything over. Your time is up.

Barack Obama:

- posed with Louis Farrakhan

- supports reparations for slavery AND

- supports political censorship on social media?

Man, this guy is on a roll for the radical left. We need to celebrate. Best President we ever had.

The public square is now privately owned by a cartel of big tech acting as a monopoly.

Pick one.

Break up the cartel.
regulate the cartel.

The 1st Amendment provides protection from government suppression of free speech. Twitter, Facebook, etc., can restrict any content freely without violating anyone's rights.

The equal-time rule was created due to concerns that broadcast stations could easily manipulate the outcome of elections by presenting just one point of view and excluding other candidates.
This was in place back when there were limited TV channels and a single one could skew public opinion.

Given the fracturing of TV based media, this became less of an issue the past 20+ years.

But these days so many younger people become informed by the likes of Twitter and then you have to consider market share....so it's not as clear cut "freedom" as you would like.

I mean you do realize that the govt. to this day bans "bad words" and enforces them with fines on TV and radio right?

If you take the time to look around you'll see how bad the free speech argument is in this case.

I thought any talk of reparations included tracing the family tree and proving you are descended from a slave.

I'm confused. When does the government shall make no law... include a privately owned business?
