Ironically this shows us why the 1st amendment is so important in the first place. They've shown us what they will do with a loophole, imagine what they would do if the amendment wasn't there at all. And keep in mind it is not only the 1st amendment they will use this tactic with. Eternal vigilance is the only path towards maintaining liberty.

We have a former president who is actively trying to increase censorship and shut down free expression in the digital public square. We warned you!
Anyone supporting censorship should be jailed as a Traitor.

Obama is a liberal. It would be fascinating if he did the opposite. I don't see Trump saying anything good about the liberal media.

I don't look at twitter any differently than the old letters to the editor in newspapers back in the day. The newspapers could pick and choose which voices could be heard. They could easily make it seem a certain issue is something the public was either for or against by which letters they published. Is that censorship? No of course not.

I am fine with Musk controlling twitter and changing how its run.

Everyone seems to forget but I think it was his first inauguration speech that he wanted to 'transform' things. That's a little more than address the issues facing the nation. Never forgot that word 'transform' because free speech is one of the many things he wants to 'transform'.

Both parties are filled with hypocrites. With voters who are also hypocrites. I am fine with the colorado bakery saying no to making a gay cake. I am fine with twitter setting the rules at their private business.

Lets just stop trying to weaponize government to take on our political enemies. We need a very small federal government like the founding fathers envisioned who just does what the voters demand it to do.

No, that is not what Obama is doing. The first amendment does not apply to social media. This is not debatable. For example, you are not allowed to say anything you want on this site, right? This site does allow misinformation but it has- a TOS that, if violated, can get you banned. Do you want the government taking over social media?

Wouldn't that be amazing.

I saw recently that marijuana legalization is twice as popular among the electorate than the sitting president. Won't be done though. Nothing voters want get done.
