Where do you come up with this stuff?

Please back kt up.

I was called up for jury duty MANY times and most others were no where near 80.

Yep, thats because they HATE this country...they do not agree with many of our 'rights', so naturally, they will never stand up in defense of them, the only rights they will defend, (are those they personally agree with). LOL

I know there is a name for this kind of person but I cannot think of it at the moment.

When you a felon you LOSE your right to own a gun.

Now I do NOT agree that ALL felons should lose that right.

It should depend on what law you broke and was found guilty of.
Not sure where your point is here.

I was referring to what you said where you compared a traffic stop background check to the background check of whether or not one can buy a gun. Guns are rights under the Constitution; traffic stops are not and hence, it is not the same thing.

Now, one might have an argument in saying that the background check to buying a gun is to see if one still has that right. Okay, I will concede on that.

On the other hand, though, comparing one to another and saying it is the same thing is both wrong and dangerous. It is like when those in Congress said that those on the no fly list should not be able to buy guns........it is apples and oranges thinking that will get us citizens deprived without due process of the law.

You neglected to factor in, that in the American justice system...once a person 'pays off their debt to society in full'...they are NO LONGER 'felons'.

So, once they have completed their entire sentence, they can no longer be restricted from buying a firearm!

That is one of the founding principles of the US justice system! I truly hope you do not feel that should be violated?

Its very eerie how people today, are apparently totally fine with govt violating our rights and changing our justice system, (in the name of safety/security!) My opinion is, if they like this kind of Govt, they need to MOVE to another country, one that is a dictatorship, America sounds like the worst fit for these kind of people.

We live under a Government system where rights are only given to you as long as the majority agrees that you should have those rights. You live in a fantasy that your in a "Free country" your rights are violated everyday by Government monitoring everything you do.

Perfect example is American citizens of Japanese decent who were forcibly taken from their homes striped of all their possessions and sent to concentration camps. It was challenged in the courts who sided with the majority. When I hear people say 2A, 2A, 2A it means nothing it's a joke IMO. Right to own a gun is only if the majority allows it. Supreme court is just bunch of political appointed judges.

Felons should have thought about that BEFORE they CHOSE to commit the crime.
