Both Ukraine and Russia claim ancestral ties to the medieval Kievan Rus. The history and culture of those peoples have been connected for over a millennium. They're about as linked to each other as the Welsh and Cornish are.

Are people that gullible to trust the media again after how they reported on covid for the past 2 years?

No. Just over 100 years ago when my grandparents and their families fled the area that is now called Ukraine, most of it belonged to Poland. There was also a time it belonged to Austria. So no, Russia cannot claim it now based on what might have been a millenium ago. Ukraine today is a sovereign nation that Russia invaded. End of story.

It helps to know some history.

Not Russia’s business.

So let's say there was a huge number of (ex-)Americans (rough analogy since there isn't such a thing as ethnic Americans if we're not talking about the indigenous population that was genocided by the European "settlers") living in Mexico in a border region that was being killed in the tens of thousands by the Mexican military for nearly a decade.
When asked to stop repeatedly by the US, not only is Mexico not doing anything about it, there is a rogue faction in the government that is sanctioning these killings.
And to complete the analogy, let's say a foreign government deemed unfriendly by the US is interfering with Mexican politics and installing a puppet regime that is also unfriendly to the US, and positioning weapons in Mexico that are pointed at the US.

The Americans in Mexico are pleaing for help to stop the shelling. Is it not America's business?
Because we've gone to war half way around the world for far, FAR less - and for reasons based on flat out lies.

They didn't asked to be brutally assaulted, attacked and murdered.
No excuse for what Russia (Putin) did.

Name a single thing Crazee Cat Lady said in her post that is inaccurate, or makes her look "completely ignorant"?

I am not pro-Ukraine or anti-Russian, and even if both have corruption or other issues, it doesn't mean one (Russia who has done this before) can decide they will just invade and lay waste to people, and turn the countries infrastructure to rubble.
How can you justify that?

I'd also note that had Bill Clinton not convinced them to give up their nukes, Neither Ukraine proper nor Crimea would have been invaded by Putin.
