Le Pen said in the debate she would ban Muslim headscarves in public spaces because Muslim women are forced to wear them by Sharia law and they are a “symbol of women’s submission”.

Macron has continually called for a credible European Military force in order to keep Moscow, Beijing and Washington in check and just last year called NATO brain dead, so he's hardly been a NATO cheerleader, then again France has never really supported US forces in Europe or US interference in European affairs. However even Macron realises the renewed importance of NATO due to current Russian aggression and the situation in Ukraine.
Now it seems that to the US, Macron is now the lesser of two evils, as Le Pen is also not Pro-EU and has doesn't support US foreign policy.
I don't think Le Pen would be an ally to Putin, however before the Ukrainian war she did support some of Putin's views on certain issues.
As for monitoring, I take it that means looking for interference or collusion, as well as foreign disinformation in relation to the election, which is something the US has not been able to prevent in relation to it's own elections.
We might be better off. France has been more of a liability than a help in past wars and they tend to switch to the side winning at the time.

They’re terrified that Le Pen will win. I saw a headline in our “media” the other day saying that if she wins it will be the end of democracy in France. Ironically, I’m sure the globalists are trying their best to figure out how to rig the election for Macron.
