Wouldn't a "Ministry of Disinformation" be something in opposition to a "Ministry of Truth"?

The truth is that most already know that they are just that, a ministry of disinformation. And they can't bridge that.

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov

I oppose democrats using George Orwell's 1984 as an instruction manual. I also oppose them using the demented version of Joe Biden as a communist Trojan horse. And I especially oppose pineapple on any pizza anywhere in the USA, but we must pick and choose our battles, so lets focus on the commies

I'm wondering about these Republicans who support this... Are they just of advanced age like Biden and didn't read or comprehend the poll correctly? Did they start drinking a little early and heavy today? Do they like what this would do to the credibility of the democrat party if they established a USA version of the ministry of truth???

It's pretty close to plagiarizing George Orwell

I am now catching up with the posts on this thread, and of all the recent alarming things that cannot be dismissed as just "alt-right fake news" (because the info came from directly from the government itself), this is one of the most scary and most outrageous.

I hope there will be fines for those who report people for no good reason.

Make no mistake. It's not Biden or the Democrats who are creating this Board. It's the oligarchs. They want to control the narrative and don't like free thinkers or free speech at all.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) wasn't established to engage in domestic affairs like monitoring social media for misinformation. With the exception of the U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Coast Guard and the Transportation Safety Administration DHS's primary mission is to protect the homeland from foreign enemies and terrorists. If anyone is getting their news from social media then they're an idiot.

Those people are invested in Biden's reputation and approval, it must be kept artificially high. These people have hitched their wagon to Biden in such a public way, that any fall in Biden's reputation or approval is a direct reflection on their own reputation and character.

We see this with people who ridiculed other people for their choices in life. They attacked the choices of others, and bragged about how much smarter, for enlightened they were for making their choices. Then, when time goes by and it becomes obvious that the braggart's choices were the flawed ones, they cannot bring themselves to admit they were wrong. This results in the braggart looking small and petty, but he cannot stop, he has convinced himself that to admit the truth would ruin his character and reputation. So he holds out for hope against hope that either a miracle will occur and his flawed choice will do a magical 180 flip, or enough time will pass and he will never need to apologize to others for his insults, and never admit that he screwed up.

They cannot admit that Biden is an inept fool, because they think that doing so will be admitting that they too are a fool.

I think you hit on a basic truth.

(Of course, this only applies to the "average" Biden voter -- those who voted because they have always voted Democrat and/or those who hated Trump so much it made them put on mental blinders as to what would almost certainly happen if he was put into office. This certainly does not apply not to those who actively support the motives behind the extreme left platform.)
