Socialism always works out for the top 1%. They prosper off the backs of the 99%....who can't escape, so they are essentially slaves.

This is America's destiny...it's just a matter of how fast America get there, & since Bush, America has been on the fast track.

Rand Paul for President 2024...or expedite your heirs path to slavery. Gov't now consumes 46% of GDP, the next step is Oligarchy, then Socialism...its a progression...that is why they are called Progressives! Here's the progression chart:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Govern...ending_GDP.png

Since 1930, when gov't spent only 10% of GDP, stupid American voters have repeatedly voted for Big Gov't spenders, & marched towards their own demise....mostly voters in the middle class...now there is almost no middle class.

Any American who votes for big gov't spenders, is voting to end the American dream...they are voting for socialism, which never works out for the 99%.

Among other flaws, capitalism and socialism both require economic growth to work. We are past the growth stage. The US economy is contracting in a long bumpy ride down for the next few centuries. Some new and more sustainable economic system will eventually evolve.

Innovation means growth can happen with things like automation, 3D printers, etc. It isn't impossible to have a shrinking population with a rising GDP per capita.

Socialism at its core is demoralizing to the human spirit. That’s number one in my opinion. Even if Socialism had a fighting chance to work, the mentality that this country has become would never even remotely possibly allow it to work. 75% of Americans don’t even wanna work anymore. We’ve become the most lazy country in human history. Whiners and complainers. Do you think Socialism is going to work with that mentality? Socialism kind of sort of works in places like Sweden where everybody contributes. People have a strong work ethic. Not here.

If Socialism were implemented in this country would be bankrupt before it even got started.

All implementations and variants of socialism operate directly counter to human nature. That's why almost all socialist countries are also totalitarian and authoritarian. Humans work to enrich themselves. The more of the fruits of their labor they get to keep for themselves and their family, the more they are likely to produce. It's as simple as that.

Socialism fails even in countries like Sweden. Swedish Americans enjoy a far higher standard of living in America than Swedes do in Sweden.

That doesn't surprise me. In Scandinavia, I would get paid somewhere between 60 and 70% less than I do here AND pay higher taxes AND have to deal with a higher cost of living. Everything comes at a cost. There's no such thing as a free lunch.

There has never existed a single economic system that has created more wealth and lifted more people out of poverty than free-market capitalism in the history of mankind.

And we're already bankrupt after 100 years of the socialist experiment. We're $30T in debt and have multiples of that in unfunded liabilities thanks to FDR and LBJ's socialist wet dreams.

Claiming socialism has worked out for the top 1% ignores is rather ironic considering that the top 1% in this country control more than the 60% in the middle. No idea why middle class defends the top brackets as if they were in danger.

Rand Paul wants to make it 1930 gain with no social programs, bring back the old Dust Bowl days when life was so great for the working class.

Starting a thread on socialism using North Korea as a model is idiotic, there are just a few other countries that fair very well with greater social programs than the US.

So which social programs do you want to eliminate, Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid?

"If Socialism is So Great, Why Does it Never Work Out???"

Didn't someone once define insanity as trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results?

Socialism is great for those running the country and controlling the people and everything in their lives.

All of them and abolish the income tax and FICA. The best social program is another 30% on my paycheck.
