And why do you suppose this is? Republicans continue to claim they're for less government interference and in favor of freedom, but they push through laws that restrict or outright ban abortions. The reality is that they love big government and authoritarianism as much as the Dems do. It's the main reason I switched from Republican to Libertarian many years ago. A person can rightfully be opposed to abortion, but come to the realization that it's a private matter. In the end, it's none of anybody's business except the woman, her family, and her doctor.
Those laws protect the unborn children.
Abortion is about balancing the right to life vs. the right of the woman to control the process.
There is no dispute, except among some Kevorkian Democrats, that the right to life is much more important at some point in the pregnancy. Even Roe v. Wade basically says the right to life trumps during the last trimester.
Doesn't the Constitution state something like anything that is not stated in the Constitution should be left to the states? (Of course, I am paraphrasing, and I might be wrong about that.)
Well, if that is true, maybe those who advocate for "states rights" might have reason to celebrate! I mean, I see nothing in the Constitution that even mentions affirmative action, for example.
I am wondering if the rationale behind this will now spread to other issues, also.
Wait. Everyone stop. This was a leaked document from Politico. I’m skeptical. Ive never heard of anyone ever leaking a SCOTUS decision.
You are correct, it's not official until it's posted on Twitter.
