Many things are considered as racist. Math, a solar eclipse from a few years back, the body-to-mass index... we have heard it ad-nauseum.

In 2020, COVID lockdowns and the Floyd Riots took out a ton of black prosperity - yet neither are even considered as racist. And when referring to the Floyd riots - I am referring to the white people in the black shirts who burned down minority communities... along with the liberal elites who paid the freight.

Why isn't the COVID lockdown considered as racist? Or Antifa and the riots that destroyed black businesses?

June 2020 - Black Businesses Decimated by Lockdowns, Riots

Fairlie goes on to note, “No group was immune to negative impacts of social distancing policy mandates and demand shifts,” but the data shows black and Hispanic small-business owners were hit hardest, with 441,000 black business owners, or 41%, no longer actively working. Latino businesses fell by 658,000, or 32%.

This is a direct result of the COVID-19 lockdown measures that forced businesses to temporarily close and customers to shelter at home, resulting in a forced partial shutdown of the economy. Small businesses are especially vulnerable to such measures because, unlike major corporations, they generally don’t have substantial cash reserves. Nor are lenders likely to extend credit to small businesses facing lockdown restrictions and a struggling economy with no certainty of being able to repay loans.

The industries that were particularly hurt by the lockdowns include construction (27%), repair and maintenance (25%), transportation (22%), and restaurants (22%).

This is devastating and heartbreaking in several aspects.

It’s painful to see these minority-owned businesses go under when, just months ago, the economic policies of President Donald Trump had resulted in all-time low unemployment for blacks and Hispanics. That included a new wave of investment in low-income, predominantly minority communities driven by the Republicans’ 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which created tax-preferred “Opportunity Zones,” leading directly to the creation of new small businesses by minority entrepreneurs.

The lockdowns deprived these small-business owners of desperately needed revenue, and in many Democrat-run states, governors and mayors employed particularly harsh measures, such as threatening shelter-at-home violators with jail time and arresting business owners who opened up in defiance of the orders. These blue-state governors and mayors also kept their states shut down far longer than other states, further damaging their economies.

June 2020 - Poor Minorities Hurt Most by Violent Protests and Looting

Time after time in these Democrat-run cities and even in the halls of Congress, politicians rushed to literally prostrate themselves before not only the protesters but the antifa and Black Lives Matter thugs who are setting their cities aflame, eager to show solidarity with them.

In these same cities there is a growing call to “defund the police,” redirecting money from police budgets to mental-health programs, public housing, and education. In Minneapolis, decimated by rioters for more than a week, the all-Democrat city council went a step further, promising to “dismantle the police department” altogether, though members didn’t explain who will now protect lives and property.

Sadly, it is the poor minorities politicians claim to care so much about who suffer most.

...
In Chicago, Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot gained notoriety recently by threatening citizens with arrest and jail time for violations of her COVID-19 stay-at-home order. Yet she seems completely incompetent at quelling the rioting, looting, and arson that devastated her city.

These same politicians justify such lawlessness by blaming poverty, poor education, or “systemic racism” — a seemingly odd claim for cities run by Democrats for decades.

...
For years, minority advocates and “social justice” warriors have decried the “food deserts” in poor minority neighborhoods. A food desert is an area where crime, shoplifting, and looting have made it impossible for grocery stores to be profitable.

...
These same activists publicly guilt and excoriate businesses and corporations for refusing to open stores in these poor minority neighborhoods but completely ignore why they won’t. Grocery stores operate on an average profit margin of 1-3%, so persistent shoplifting can easily cause the store to lose money, and no business can consistently operate at a loss. And in the aftermath of these riots, it is minority-owned businesses that were hit hardest. With many already struggling to make a profit, and with no cash reserves, they will simply go bankrupt.

Why would any major retailer or small business rebuild in these neighborhoods when politicians are siding with the looters and rioters and against police? Why invest in rebuilding with no assurance this won’t happen again?

Again and again - black and other minority communities lose out to Democrat policies and Democrat supported thugs. And I include those being let out by Soros funded DAs around the country - who let out criminals who continue to harm many in black communities.

Aug 2020 - The Covid-19 Crisis Has Wiped Out Nearly Half Of Black Small Businesses

Nearly half of Black small businesses had been wiped out by the end of April as the pandemic ravaged minority communities disproportionately, according to a report from the New York Fed.

Black-owned businesses were more than twice as likely to shutter as their white counterparts, the report found.

"Nationally representative data on small businesses indicate that the number of active business owners fell by 22% from February to April 2020—the largest drop on record," the report said.

"Black businesses experienced the most acute decline, with a 41% drop. Latinx business owners fell by 32% and Asian business owners dropped by 26%."

...
Why have Black businesses been twice as likely to close as their white counterparts, just as Black unemployment is often double that for whites?

It's institutional racism, obviously—but the New York Fed report analyzes how that manifests itself in banking relationships and lending decisions, in cumulative, generational ways.

"Volumes of COVID-19 cases coincide with Black-owned business locations: two-thirds of counties with high levels of Black business activity pre-COVID-19 are in the top 50 COVID-affected areas," the New York Fed said.

There is a small, but growing sea of Black Republicans speaking out about this. Candace Owens and Larry Elder are my heroes. As a person of color, I'm fleeing Commifornia next week to start a new life in Idaho. No worries about the "White Supremacists" there because I know they don't have any real power, even in Red areas.

The tide is slowly turning... and it doesn't even need to be towards republicans. Just understand that the Democrats are wolves in sheep's clothing.

You can add the whole Defund the Police movement to your list OP because the minority communities suffered the most and still do when the cops were removed.

The Democrats are wolves in sheep's clothing and the more they scream about the Racism from the Right the more that people are catching on that it is all garbage to get votes.

You're not providing an argument refuting the author. You're simply smearing him by attacking the political leaning of the portal the writing is found in.

Should you have an actual argument, kindly present it.

If you don't - I understand.

Just a plain fool here who is simply reflecting himself and how he operates. He needs the talking points in order to know how to think and assumes others operate in likewise fashion.

The last article is from Forbes FYI.
