I see many people celebrating the fact that SCOTUS has given the states the choice with the abortion debate...but if you look at some other laws that nearly all states aggressively enforce...in many cases, states happily enforce federal laws (even when they do not have to)!

It really just comes to down to popular opinion at the time, if majority of citizens feel its ok to tell someone what they can do or put into their own bodies, the states will aggressively enforce such laws. Makes no difference if they have the right not to.

Federal gun laws are a great example, even at the state or local level, police enforce these federal laws VERY aggressively! Is there ONE city or state out there that refuses to enforce the ATF Class 3 laws? Id love to know if there is?!

My point is, local/ state police are of the opinion that citizens should not have automatic weapons (without the Class 3 license), so they have no qualms enforcing federal laws!

What they are really doing is cherry picking what Constitutional rights they will violate, (based on popular opinion at the time).
