That's not the reason for it at all, of course. It's top prove that you are who you say you are, and not some fake or fraud trying to cheat or lie about what you are doing.

To this day, I dont think these diehard Republicans really believe there was fraud in the election, its just something they like to say, (because in reality, in this country...citizens are required to defend the principles the nation was founded on)...neglecting to do that, just because you dont want to risk being arrested/imprisoned, etc is the exact opposite of 'patriotism'....
Plus...if these folks are not even willing to defend the integrity of the highest seat of power in the country...is there ANYTHING they would stand up to defend?! (not imo...apparently they prefer to 'JUST OBEY AND COMPLY), no matter what.

How dare they require an ID to vote. IDs are used for social security, welfare, buying alcohol, buying cigarettes, renting an apartment, renting a car, getting medical treatment, cashing a check, and other government and financial services.

Wisconsin allows harvesting. As long as republicans don't stop harvesting, drop boxes, and allowing people to turn in votes on behalf of another, they are going to have to get an extra 5% to win elections from the Zuckerberg style harvesting operations.
I'm all for early voting, if a person drives to the polling place with their ID and presents it. That's where I would draw the line. Give people 2 weeks to vote. If this is such a burden for you, tough luck.
For now and forever we are going to have these midnight voter dumps and contested elections that go well after election day. It's going to be a mess.

I NEVER missed voting on the day for voting and I worked 35 miles away from my voting place.
Do you get a 2 week window for a Dr.'s appointment?
If voting is IMPORTANT to you, you WILL make whatever arrangements required.
It's NOT like you don't have enough time, when the voting date is set LONG before the actual date.
This is great news. We must ensure all votes are counted properly and not more than once, regardless of what side may try to take advantage of the rules.
