Have you heard that over 70% of Americans support abortion rights in some capacity. I can assure you 70% of the electorate aren’t all Democrats. Anybody supporting a ban on contraception is a fringe politician that would be quickly elected out of a job in ANY state. Regardless of party affiliation, we all enjoy the pleasure of having sex and that’s with contraception. So you can sleep easy tonight and be rest assured the pills will be available going forward at your neighborhood Rite-Aid.

Oh, good grief, try telling that to the many Republican legislators who quite passionately want all abortion banned unless needed to save life of mother. A few of them, though, are willing to allow for rape and/or incest. And then the many of them who want all types of birth control banned that can interfere with the fertilized egg. You seem to need to be better informed about what has been going on or threatened in the most recent weeks.

For all we know, the Republicans that have challenged Republican incumbents for the primaries were moved to do so because incumbents didn't go far crazy enough to the extreme in trying to ban and penalize all abortions. It's important to understand that if Republican incumbents do win primaries that there is no way most of them can lose election to a pro-choice Democrat challenger. Anyway, state Republicans Parties have been shocked before when an unusually high number of their incumbents get voted out. We'll just have to wait to see what happens.

A number of anti-abortion lobby groups are mighty damned upset that new laws passed don't require prison time for women who do self-directed abortions, or penalize people who help them get to an abortion doctor, for starters. Just a law passed that requires abortion doctors to go to prison for 10 years and fined $100,000 isn't enough.

To enjoy the pleasure of sex with someone else you first need to have sex appeal. Not all of us have that.

One prolific (posting wise) male Trump supporting CD poster who lives in Texas (who I haven't seen post lately), who is married and has grown children, has posted that he thinks that people should only have sex to procreate.

And a pro-life member started a 'states rights'/pushing back at critics of Texas thread with a link (probably didn't read the link) that showed that 54% of Texans (with a +/- 2.8% margin of error) don't want a complete ban on abortion

I suppose it's easy for him to practice what he preaches if his wife has been going along with him for many years. I don't care if that is how they get along in bed, but just because it works for them, they shouldn't want a law for it that applies to everyone.

When it comes to contraception issues and abortion, only women politicians should be deciding this, and male politicians stay away.

If men were able to reproduce, abortion would have been legal for 2000 years.

let’s just imagine in loon land that the republicans overwhelmingly supported banning contraceptives and premarital sex

even if they supported that

democrats have nothing to offer but their failed policies that led to higher fuel prices leading to higher everything prices during inflation where just a short time ago we had no issues with our supply chain or food supply plus they encourage illegal immigration and are responsible for doing nothing about it, democrats have nothing to offer because their policies are terrible and therefore they have to lie to stay in power and be relevant.

it is unbelievable that people are really fooled by this abortion hysteria

Idaho also considering restricting some contraception.

What's next in these states removing woman's rights to vote, and property ownership?
I read both articles— neither one said contraception would be banned.

“ In a Saturday interview, Crane clarified that he supports contraception, including IUDs, and would not support hearings banning contraception generally. Instead, he said that he has heard of safety concerns with emergency contraceptives, like Plan B, and abortion pills, and would therefore be willing to hold hearings about them.

This is all Leftist Media fear mongering.

Technically speaking, isn't the media misusing the actual definition here?

"the deliberate use of artificial methods or other techniques to prevent pregnancy as a consequence of sexual intercourse. The major forms of artificial contraception are barrier methods, of which the most common is the condom; the contraceptive pill, which contains synthetic sex hormones that prevent ovulation in the female; intrauterine devices, such as the coil, which prevent the fertilized ovum from implanting in the uterus; and male or female sterilization."

Contraception prevents pregnancy, so the morning after pill is not contraceptive. It terminates the pregnancy, just very early.
Exactly correct. What fool really believes State are going to ban birth control pills and condoms?
Just because some think that Abortion is Birth Control, that doesn’t mean it is Birth Control.
Abortion does NOT prevent pregnancy— it prevents live birth.

Since condoms can be ordered from Amazon, it would be a little tough to make them illegal somewhere.
Morning After pill? .......... Yeah. Amazon, too.

The OP makes lots of attempts to attack southern red states. Maybe he thinks his opinion counts. It doesn't.

I would think the fact that a draft of the majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization that invokes & then channels a 17th century misogynist’s rants as “deeply rooted in this nation's history” & airquote ‘legal reasoning’ is much more than a cautionary tale.
