Answer: it is not Ukraine, fighting with Russia. It is collective West, fighting with Russia. It is a proxy war. Per mr Blinking, I believe, the goal is for Ukraine to provide max damage to Russia. To the tune of the last Ukrainian. West does not really give rat tail about them, really. For about 500 or so years, West was in permanent state of war with Russia. Turkey can invade and kill Kurds, Israel may kill Palestinians, it’s quite alright. But boy oh boy, let Russia even defend itself - bloody murder will be screamed from every door knob. Well, after all, they are all drunk barbarians with dog heads, dancing with bears on ice covered streets.

Defense companies pay taxes and employ hundred of thousands of people with high paying jobs. They, too, are taxpayers who support Ukraine.

I'm well aware that it's a proxy war of the West vs. Russia but thanks for sharing your perspective. Too bad all of the liberals flying Ukrainian flags don't see through the charade.

That being said most of you whiners would be fine with this if it were Trump in office and you're just political axe grinding.

Really, like we haven't been here long enough to spot those that will complain\support anything along partisan lines.

I don't like Biden either, so just move along and stop making fools of yourselves.

P.S. Russia getting their butt kicked is incredible for US arms sales.
Agreed. I probably shouldn't let anybody know that I'm geo-political. It's not popular in the modern populist conservative movement but I'm a child of the cold war and I can't forget the lessons learned about the value of showing strength as a deterrent to malign actors. I think a proxy war is a great way to kick Russia in the balls which is something they've needed. They've been responsible for massive global mischief ever since Lenin. It's time they got cut down to size and without a single American life lost $44B is a bargain to sideline them for a generation or more. But mostly I'm in favor of this as a deterrent to China invading Taiwan. It feels to me like hardly anybody recognizes the jeopardy there. The semiconductor fabs in Taiwan are the modern day equivalent of what the Saudi oil fields were in the 70s and 80s. Absolutely a critical component of Western economic survival. The kind of thing we would have gone to nuclear war with the Soviets over. You think the Ukrainian conflict is rocking the global economic boat? You ain't seen nothin compared to the global meltdown that will occur if China swallows up the bulk of the world's chip sources. If $44B to Ukraine helps cut Russia's femoral artery in a loud grotesque public fashion and it helps convince Xi that a move on Taiwan is going to be way more costly than he thought then it's money well spent. Ukraine is becoming an object lesson in how small free armies with good weapons can out-fight and bleed a large slave army dry. I hope Xi is considering that Russia couldn't penetrate 200 miles into a small neighboring country and what this might imply to him contemplating an amphibious invasion of Taiwan ... probably the most difficult type of military assault there is. The Taiwanese would fight like hell but I'd rather invest in not seeing that happen.

I think it would be wise for some states to break away and form their own nations and tell the federal government that they wont help pay off their debt.

But why leave the wonderful weather of California to the loony left? And I dont want to leave the density, and walkability of Manhattan to the loony left either.

I am not really sure what you mean. You dont think that California or NYC should be allowed to separate into their own nations?
