The results showed that six states — Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida, Illinois and Texas — likely have a larger population than was officially counted.

Eight states likely have fewer residents than were recorded, the survey found: Hawaii, Delaware, Rhode Island, Minnesota, New York, Utah, Massachusetts and Ohio…

The post-mortem will not change the official state-by-state results of the census, which said that 331,459,281 people were living in the United States in 2020. Nor will it alter the allotment of seats in the House of Representatives or in state and local political districts, even though its findings arguably could have affected those decisions.

Add the Census Bureau to the list of federal agencies that has been politicized by the Democrat Party.

I can remember quite a few posters on this forum saying they would not fill out the census survey nor speak to a census worker who knocked on their door. If people were not counted, it's their own fault for not filling out the census form.

I can't imagine how they get an over count in a state.

That's not what the Census Bureau says, but I understand you need to defend Democrats at all costs.

How do you explain the overcounting of blue states? It can't be blamed on people not filling out the forms, or are you trying to make that absurd claim?

From the NYT article linked in your article:
Quote:
The Census Bureau said in March that the same survey had found undercounts of Black and Hispanic people, and overcounts of white people and people of Asian descent in the national population totals. Overcounts of white people and undercounts of other racial and ethnic groups have been a persistent problem in past censuses.
That is, it was mostly democrats who were undercounted, and republicans who were overcounted.

Thread fail.

Yep, one of the states was Little Rhody. And I thank goodness - a Republican may have a shot at representing me in Congress this year!

If we had shrunk to the one seat that was originally predicted, there would be zero chance.

I said I don't know how they get over counts.

But the undercounts are explainable. This most recent census depended heavily on people returning their mailed surveys. Because of the pandemic, they did not send out very many census takers door to door like in previous years to count those who didn't respond by mail.

I recently looked up myself in the 1950 census that was released in April. That year they had census workers going door to door and writing down who lived in each house and apartment. They went back on another day if nobody was home. I expect that process was a lot more accurate than mailing census surveys with no follow up.
