Things are different in Canada - it's managed and staged. Canada also has very restrictive rules. You have a ptrivate sponsorship refugee program Canada is not letting people in willy nilly.

Thats the problem right there. The job of our schools is not to make "the World" a better place. it is to make America a Better Place. That is really the crux of the dispute with people on the left such as yourself and people who lean right. America First doesn't mean we say to hell with the rest of the World but that we make sure Americans are taken care of before we go to try to help our neighbors. What we are doing now is like some Parent who makes sandwiches and brings them down to feed people homeless in the park. It's something very laudable about that and most of us wish we did such good things. Than we find out that Parent had 3 kids at home they left to fend for themselves for food with nothing in the Pantry...

Amazing, that you're OK damaging American kids' education. If citizens of other countries are so important to you, you should head down to their country and work to improve conditions there.

To paraphrase an old saying "The sins of the parents fall on the children". It means none of us had any control over what our parents did to or for us when we grew up. Do we allow the kids of bank robbers to keep the loot their parents stole, for example?

Fewer than here, because Canada only has 2 borders, one with the US and one with France, and it's much harder to get to Canada than the US. That's simple geography.
And, do you really want local school officials trying to enforce Federal immigration law? The school officials for sure do not want to do that.
Have you seen the curriculum for our kids? Critical Race Theory... Confused Gender Theory... Math is racist...
I think that train has left the station already.
My kid spent 12 years in Houston ISD. I never say any CRT or confused gender in the curriculum. Nor did any teacher accuse math of being racist. What I did see was dedicated professionals trying their best to teach kids, despite the best efforts of the State Legislature to underfund schools and make teacher's lives impossible.
They come here because the situation in their home country is impossible. If they try to improve things at home, they get killed, either by the gangs, or by the government.
Can you explain why so many of them pass through other countries where these threats don't exist and make a bee-line toward the US?
