They come here because the situation in their home country is impossible. If they try to improve things at home, they get killed, either by the gangs, or by the government.
That doesn't give them the right to live here illegally. Plenty of people in the banana republics live their day-to-day lives without getting involved with gangs.
Abbott argued that the public education system in Texas is being overwhelmed by the number of illegal alien students enrolled. “I think we will resurrect that case and challenge this issue again,” he said on the program. “Because the expenses are extraordinary and the times are different than when Plyler v. Doe was issued many decades ago.”
I agree with Abbott why in the hell are we paying for the education of children who aren't lawfully in our country?
They. Are. Children.
End of story. Or do you only care about "life in the womb before they are born"? Start caring about real, live children, and who gives a flying fig what their parental status is.

Hey, Norm! This isn't even your country. Go worry about your own country.
If you want to pay for the education for some illegal aliens who aren't even in your country, go knock yourself out.

Trying to figure out how many in Texas schools and what exactly is the cost versus benefit since an educated society is a better society.
According to article below...
50 to 75% of illegals do pay federal and state taxes. Illegal kids in school (up to K-12) in Texas range from 3 to 8%.... Only 2% in college. Who are hiring the parents of these kids as well? Lots of info below...
^^^^As for illegals paying taxes --- how many are doing it using a stolen or fake SSN? And, just how can anyone determine what percentage of illegals are paying taxes when no one even knows just how many are in this country?

I hope Plyler v. Doe gets revisited.
Children are children, and we, as human beings, should not be blaming them for whatever their parents status is.
BTW, Canada takes in more refugees, not per captia, but in REAL numbers, than the USA does. We walk the talk. We care about human beings, and do what we can to help them. Especially children.

To paraphrase an old saying "The sins of the parents fall on the children". It means none of us had any control over what our parents did to or for us when we grew up. Do we allow the kids of bank robbers to keep the loot their parents stole, for example?
But since we're all (both parties) allowing illegal immigrants to come in with their children, is it not to our advantage to educate their children too, so we can have doctors, engineers, plumbers, etc., descendants from these parents we allow in?
Except some of us aren’t members of either major party, aren’t responsible for letting anyone in, yet we feel similar to the way the person you’re replying to does.
