Russia is a paper tiger compared to the Soviet Union. They went from a military budget of 300 billion per year to 70 billion. The GDP of Russia today is about the same as Spain or Italy.
Thus Russia is unable to even maintain the aging Soviet assets, like their fleet, nukes, and air force. Trying to even service the outdated equipment with 1/5th the budget of the USSR is impossible. Militaries have changed, such that tanks, helicopters, and surface naval ships are obsolete, big targets for missiles.
That being said, Russia still has assets which can do damage to the US. Keep in mind that a third world "army" of goat herders with no equipment just embarrassed "Biden's" military. Thus, despite our technological advances,we have idiots at the helm who consider "white supremacy", "racism", and "gender" to be their priorities. Luxembourg could defeat such an army of twits!

In reality, if there were a much more powerful military the US would likely have been invaded and regime change forced due to the US butchering people in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria. Russia has a long way to go to catch up to what the US has done and it isnt realistic to think they could catch up. The US military is just very efficient when it comes to mass murdering innocent people and pretending that they arent the bad guys.

Most of the mass murdering happened by accident like trying to kill that terrorist with a drone strike while he was surrounded by children only to realize he was not a terrorist.
I wonder how the soldiers who pushed the buttons feel. We never get to hear from or about them. There are vets who vlog on YT though, but no one talks about the mistakes.
