Lord almighty! Why do the very people who hate big government expect the government to fix things over which the government has little control? US power is produced by PRIVATE companies operating for profit for the most part. The government regulates them but each state does that to varying degrees usually overlaid with corruption that lets them skimp on maintenance to pad their bottom lines. Federal regulation is limited and, again, managed by people beholden to the corporations not the customer. The problem is not that we don't have business(men) in charge. It is that we do.
Other nations with more reliable systems typically do not leave their electrical grid in the hands of corrupt profiteers. They are nationalized. That is not without its problems either, but so many of our profit-driven systems are failing that it is maybe worth a look.

That is quite interesting. And plausible--it does make sense when one observes what is going on and analyzes it. The only "loose end" that I could see with this is that the "silicon valley types" are taking a gamble on what actually replaces the deposed government in such a scenario. I question whether they have as much control of the future as they think they do. They certainly have the power to "detonate the bomb." But do they have the power to deal with its aftermath? Could be another Dr. Frankenstein story in the making.

How many "Infrastructure Weeks" did we have again? The orange incompetent had four years to get something passed that would have made funds available for grid improvements and failed to get it done. Biden got in done in a couple months. It takes time to string wire, but at the end of Biden's first term, the grid will be in better shape than it was when he took over.
Now, the bill passed by Biden is woefully inadequate. It should have been four trillion over 10 years. We are so far behind from, as the poster above commented, kicking the cann that the current law is just a band-aid. People who travel to Europe or China, for example, appreciate just how dilapidated, rundown and neglected the entirety of our infrastructure is and how far behind we are.

There is no "They". There are no meeting of "They", and "They" are not manipulating the world and controlling your thoughts and making you see things "Their" way.
"They" have not organized themselves into a hierarchy of some sort with "Some" at the top and "Others" at a lower level. And there is no war.
