Wonder what took them so long.

Quote:
The woke police are coming for the term “obesity.”

The University of Illinois Chicago’s school of public health published an article by a dietitian claiming the medical term is “racist” and should be replaced with the wordy term “people with larger bodies.”

It's now offensive to refer to a woman as a 'mother' but perfectly fine to refer to them as a birthing person, b*tch, or h*e.

The bmi is a flawed calculation. That is not controversial. Per the calculation, most athletes are obese. Muscle is heavier than fat.

What is racist about it? I think it is more of a medical term, than anything else.

And, yes, I have seem many fat women but that does not seem to be prevalent about any one race. I do think, however, that the only race that does not seem to have a LOT of fat people are Asians.

Given what we've gone through the past rwo years I think the term 'obesity ' needs to be talked about more and more.

America used to be populated by grownups, now it seem we are a bunch of thin skinned babies.

In time, "larger bodies" will be villified. Eventually 'fat' will once again be the safe word,.. until its not. Etc. Same as all other 'changed' terms.

Word bullies.

Just take any word you don't like, attach racism to it with no particular basis and then declare people that say it "racist".

P.S. In fairness the University didn't call for changing the word. They just published this one gals article.
