Who are these peasants? Only 1% of the US population is involved in farming, and many are quite wealthy. I think Americans gave up on subsistence farming a long time ago. They don't even pick their own crops anymore. Migrant laborers and machines do all the work for them.
You'll find peasants in other parts of the world, and even slaves, but none of that here in the USA, sorry. Plebs perhaps.
We could change the wording all day long and not prove anything.
Here is a modern way to look at this...
The '1%' are the elites, (upper class)
The other 99% are the peasants (lower class)
So many people make the mistake of assuming its 'liberal vs conservative', (republicans vs democrats), but that is not the way it is, Trump, Biden, Pelosi, Bush, Obama, etc...(they are all members of the Elite class).
President Lyndon B. Johnson once said this about the tactics of rich white people of his era, “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”
Not much has changed. Poor people still tend to act badly, and rich people tend to point that out... so middle class working people don't notice that their real income has remained stagnant for 40 years. Because something has GOT to be done about these poor people wasting their tax money!!!
Yep, back in the 80s and 90s, it was possible to provide for oneself working a minimum wage job...that is not possible today!
This is all right there in black and white, just look at how long the federal minimum wage has remained THE SAME!, it used to go up much more frequently, there is a clear agenda at work here, the rich want to get richer and keep the poor, more poor.

Rich always have near zero homicide rates. With police pulling back from low income neighborhoods since the mid 2010s the homicide death rates of poor people has went through the roof. The city next to me now has an extra 100+ homicides each year, almost none in the rich part of town. Looks like the police were doing a lot of lessen loss of life in poor areas.
The police are there to take reports and assign blame. They aren't obligated to protect anyone.
It depends on the crime though...police will act very aggressively when it comes to some crime, over others. it varies.
Drug laws for example, nearly all police enforce these laws VERY aggressively! They will spend time tearing a car apart on the side of the road if drugs are suspected!
lot of things said in here like police protect money and power, which is true to an extent, but not the whole picture
Police are literally known as "law enforcement". They enforce the laws, because without any muscle the laws are completely meaningless. And that includes maintaining public safety, not just protecting property which is also extremely important
Are you trying out for Robinhood in the school play?
Robin Hood figures used to be celebrated as heroes (by the lower class)...
But in todays world, they are hated by EVERYONE. (pretty strange how that changed huh?)
