Be careful. Forum rules says you can't alter a quote. I've made this mistake before. You should change it before you get dinged by the mods.

If you want to know the difference between MLRS and HIMARS from a guy that operated MLRS's in the US Army...here is a good read why HIMARS are the better choice for this theater. And they WILL impact the battle field in short order.

Ukraine Update: HIMARS it is, as Ukraine gets the rocket artillery it's been begging for

As Europe sanctions Russian oil, prices of crude on world market near $120/barrel. Huge beneficiary is India --> gobbling up Russian oil on sale at up to 30% off. Imports have increased by factor of 9. China also expected to "go on a shopping spree"

Where the sanctions are having the most impact is actually on Russia's most important sector that allows it to wage war

https://www.politico.eu/article/the-...s-war-ukraine/

Quote:
But it’s in manufacturing, Russia’s traditional Achilles’ heel, that the impact is likely to be felt hardest. In 22 years, Putin has failed to create the kind of secure and predictable environment that manufacturers yearn for — a deficit that even senior lawmaker Andrey Klishas starkly admitted last week.

"The import substitution program has failed completely. There is nothing but bravura reports of various departments. Our people see this, both in consumer goods and in many other areas," Klishas wrote in his Telegram channel. (Klishas’ other public statements remain strongly supportive of the war, nonetheless.)
The sanctions have affected the supply of some of the most critical components for the Russian Defense Industry. So they are literally having to resort to using tanks and equipment the Soviets used in Afghanistan. So the current sanctions are having immediate consequences on the battle field.

So, what's the deal with India.

I thought they were all about democracy.

No?

There are Russian speakers ALL OVER eastern Ukraine, there hasn't been any genocide. Most of the Russian speakers in Ukraine are supporting the Ukrainian government against Putin's subterfuge of 2014 and the full scale invasion of 2022. They fill the ranks of Ukrainians defending their homeland.

In fact, the president of Ukraine is a Russian speaker! The Russian speakers of Ukraine are not only full citizens with all the protections and privileges of citizenry accorded them, but in the last election they were able to put their favorite into office to run the country. Some genocide

If anything, Putin's brigands have been carrying out more of an actual genocide against the Russian speaking Ukrainians they pretend to care about. They have targeted apartment blocks, schools, theaters and hospitals with their missiles and killed many people. Yes, that's right, they KILLED many Russian speaking Ukrainians with their wanton destruction, damaged their homes and then looted their possessions.

The Russian invaders are disgusting.

Most people fighting Donbas are not from the East. It is no coincidence that families in Western and other parts of Ukraine are protesting against the regime, they don't want to sacrifice their husbands, fathers and brothers as cannon fodder in a war that makes no sense.
In fact, Ukrainians were so much against fighting their own citizens, that many preferred to emigrate. Most people did not show up in the draft. The Nazi indoctrination changed that a bit. But really, why would any reasonable person support Nazis and satanists?

Nope, the laws are not in accordance with the constitution. The latter provides for Russian speakers' rights, laws don't.

Nonsense, Russians are not targeting any of what you list. All those incidents (Mariupol etc.) have been carried out by Ukrainians. Survivors and eyewitnesses themselves say so, why don't you listen to them?

We’re throwing even more resources into the black hole. This time it’s MLRS, as if that will be the game changer that the previous $60 billion spent wasn’t. Ukraine will continue to be defeated on the battlefield, these weapons are only doing 1 thing, prolonging the inevitable negotiation and continuing needless loss of life. The last people that want these weapons are probably the Ukrainian soldiers that have to use them, it’s a death sentence if they even make it to the battlefield.

After the partition Pakistan tended to get American weapons and India responded by buying mostly Soviet arms.

What is your point?! Russia is a democracy (deficient, sure, but so is the US, UK, India etc.), the president got elected, his approval ratings have risen to about 80% recently.

The thing is, the view Westerners have of Russia is wrong to begin with, the result of years or decades of russophobic brainwashing...
