It’s just a evidence that gun owners don’t like so it doesn’t count.
Australia isn’t America. They don’t have the same freedoms we do. It will never happen in America. You will have civil war before it happens. It’s not an option so stop bringing it up. There are other more sensible solutions than to give up the tool that helps us keep our freedom.
It's also easy to get the chemicals to make a bomb. Get access to a car, or a knife. All of which have been used in "mass killings" in the past.
These mass shootings for the most part are not some "spur of the moment" rage, they are very often well planned out in advance. If you take away one "weapon", a person determined to make a name for themselves or satisfy a grudge will find another way.
But if you take away this one "weapon" you get rid of the 99.9999% of LEGAL gun owners who use their guns responsibly, and in many occasions used it to protect their life or property.
But here is the thing: a car, a bomb and a knife are NOT used in America like you typically see in the rest of the civilized world. Guns are used in American mass attacks. What you are saying is a straw argument because it is irrelevant.
It's not where I live. They make you show an ID before they let you and and it's a locked door.
Schools are pretty strict about who they let in.
It is true though -- as kids leave (older kids) or if kids go in and out for recess there are opportunities for people to 'break' in.
The newst high school here is built like a fortress for sure. It's a beautiful building but it is fenced in, cameras everywhere and you have to buzz to get in, go into a locked office and provide ID. If you work in a school you have to have some kind of security checks.
I know it may vary from district to district but having been in two states, three counties, I've seen how schools have locked down.
Oh and if you've never been in the school for an active shooter drill (like a fire drill but different)....it is disturbing for sure.....
We will become more like Australia though...Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi!
