I realize that and I grew up in the same kind of location with the same things, and we live in one now. Of course it's the people and not the guns. I'm not arguing any different. But kids are different than they were even 10 years ago across the country as a whole. Not everyone lives in an idyllic farm town with well adjusted kids. Kids are committing suicide in the military when that was not the case on the scale it is now even 5 years ago. Why? My sons saw it first hand, and one served on the Fitz just a short time before the accident.
I'm not trying to argue with you but things have changed in our country and not for the better when it comes to our youth. And I don't have the answers, just questions.
Kids are not allowed to mature. Too many helicopter parents. If told no, they melt down. They all get a participation trophy. They are never allowed to lose at anything, So when someone hurts their feelings they can't handle it.
Young males overrepresent in homicides, assaults, rapes, robberies, burglaries, carjackings…..
IMO, a big problem is the lack of activity and fresh air and sense of purpose.
It used to be that, even from a young age, boys were working…on the farm, on their paper route, or they were milk boys…
Now, unless the boy is willing or able to play a sport, there is very little for him to do. Girls have mostly take over academic success (at least among whites), and most of school involves telling boys to be more like girls. Sit still, be quiet, follow the rules….
And males only garner positive attention/feedback if they are athletes or performing artists.

I would agree with this and it's apparent when you look at rules in school districts, go to any school function, or watch extracurricular activities. At this point though has it gone too far and something needs to be done? Or let it continue? I'm glad I'm older and retired at this point. My kids don't want to have any of their own which makes me sad.
Behind in technology for killing the masses you mean? Yeah, I’m good with that. Just as I’m good with not allowing private citizens access to certain toxins and explosives. Cause you know, what could possibly go wrong?
Nothing fancy about an ar15. It’s just another semi auto. Ruger mini14 does the same thing but it doesn’t look as “spooky”.
Other countries ban guns and they have no school shootings. Why didn't you think of that.
