I get it that people are upset with the recent school shootings, but if you are suggesting getting tougher on guns, that is going to lead to MUCH MUCH more violence and death, so Im wondering what these anti gun folks are really wanting to happen?
Would you be satisfied if such laws were passed and 1000s of police officers were killed in gun battles with civilians? That is what will happen if new gun laws are created. people are not going to give up their guns without taking a few people with them, and its their Constitutional right to do so...
Good luck arresting someone who was defending their right to own guns, very few people would tolerate that, and then more deaths, more fighting would ensue.
You are not making much sense, its hard to tell what you are arguing against. This is what I think sensible gun laws are, mandatory anonymous NICS with every gun transfer of ownership in ALL cases, mandatory gun training requirement could be virtual and should be inexpensive.
I don't think we need to crack down on "guns". We need to crack down on first time gun buyers, especially 18 year old men. Training, licensing, mental exam, restrictions on size of gun, sponsorship, etc. should all be considered.

Simply place a nationwide ban on sales of guns to people under age 21. Our nation did it for alcohol decades ago against alcohol commercial interests. We should be able to stand up the same way to gun makers and sellers. But are Republicans totally unwilling to raise the age limit to 21?
This shooter waited until the very day it was legal for him to buy the rifle...
If the law had been changed to age 21, maybe when he did become 21, buying guns to shoot up a school would have been among the least things he would have wanted to do.

I wouldn't have a problem with age/experience/training limits for certain firearms.

And this type of thinking is exactly why the Federal government deem the biggest threat...and some of you wonder why..
Did that happen with the Assault Weapons Ban of '94? Deaths did increase markedly after it was allowed to expire...
are you kidding?
Look out Waco Siege, then Ruby Ridge, then Timothy McVeigh when he bombed a federal building in OK
