Why?

Because were it not for Republican Politics (and the money they get from that NRA) we might make some progress on a gun control bill.

Or it is okay that every few days we have some mad-man pop off a few of our children with a damned gun?

Because the GOP does the same for its pet causes.

What proposed law would have prevented this shooting from occurring?

In a democracy every single issue is political. That's how the system works.

So let's get to the heart of the matter and figure out what to do about the "mad-men." Why are they that way? What's the cause(s)? And how do we fix the cause(s)? Wouldn't you rather fix the actual problem or just spout off about guns?

This! We need to bring back mental institutions. Some people are not fit to live in a civilized society, but do not belong in prison.

You’re looking at this backwards bronco. Always when there is a tragedy humans look at it in dismay and say “what can we do to prevent a similar loss in the future”? That’s how flood plain maps and building codes and and wildfire prevention tactics come from. Witnessing tragedies snd deciding to act so they don’t happen again.

And that’s why reasonable people are now saying we must get the rifles out of the hands of these evil slaughterers and not make sitting ducks out of our school kids ever again.

Thoughts?
When there is a societal problem, we need to make decisions about public policy. That is called politics.

Democrats aren't politicizing this for their own gain, as you claim, but because they want to do something about the problem. What is wrong with that? Whenever we have a problem, there are going to be differences of opinion on what the best solution is. Again, that is called politics.

We have some politicians who say we should stay out of the conflict in Ukraine and not send any military aid. I could say, why are they allowed to politicize the tragedy in Ukraine? But they are just expressing their honest opinion and, again, that is politics.

Can you name the future evil slaughterers so we can keep the rifles out of their hands? If you know who they are let us know.
