Having the bible thumpers decree, and enforce, that we are a "Christian Nation" and all must convert. That would force me out (Venezuela here I come) but not before doing some serious protesting.

Man, I do sometimes really think we're going downhill fast. I don't know what specific things would really make me decide it was time to take my family elsewhere. Besides, where would we go?? I can't think of any other place I'd rather be that I'd probably have a good shot of being able to emigrate to. All of my ancestors have been here since colonial days so I'm about as American as you can get. Not sure I could bring myself to take my family elsewhere.

Prohibiting guns would be a really stupid move for any would be tyrant. I expected the Bushistas to get around to doing it already.
Seeings that Bush nominated a couple Justices that appear to be restoring the 2nd Amendment, what's your answer on the question about asking if your party turned out to be the oppressors, would that change your mind?

I've done a little research and it appears that emmigrating really isn't the best choice (unless you're a socialist.) Heck, if you're a socialist, you have half a globe to choose from if CA isn't good enough.
But, the more the law's involved in my everyday life-- from seatbelts to Social Security-- the more isolated I become.

So that means it's OK to accuse him of ruining America? That's a pretty harsh accusation to spew anonymously. Tell me how such hatred is more productive. Tell me how it adds to the argument. Is your America one where people you don't like have to leave? Even people we dislike have their ideals for our country and that is their freedom. I for one hardly think socialists are ruining my country; rather, this unrelenting hatred and divisiveness is.
If this country would turn socalist I would probaly move as right behind most industry. Then the socailist can fight over the scrapes left over between themselves.

Give me Bible thumpers any day, rather than gangs, criminals, druggies, ect. In fact if our country was a Christian nation--at least it would be safer.
